Vivid street lyrics by Roc Marciano (http://cratesofjr.blogspot.com/2010/09/visualize-essence-of-street-reality-roc.html) on this one, plus the beat fits the mood of the song well. I haven't heard someone rhyme about a firearm as effective as this since Nas on "I Gave You Power". Roc brings out deep images of the streets in his own unique rhyme style,

yep, Roc Marciano is one of my favorites right now. i don't think i ever heard a weak verse from him tbh. this track is just released as a double A-side single with a Blaq Poet song on the flip-side (that's how it's marketed, i'm not sure if an actual vinyl release has dropped or if it's strictly digital). here's the Poet track:

co-sign to the fullest. i didn't get around to pick up "Marcberg" until a little while ago but it's definitely worth it: one of the best albums of the year, no question. and i love the fact that he produced, performed and wrote everything by himself and it still came out incredible.

i think the one you're thinking about with Madlib is "Marcberg: Reloaded" which is a companion piece to the album but at the same time it's all new verses, all new beats. Q-Tip, Large Professor, Madlib, Pete Rock, Just Blaze all has been announced as producers for that project!! can't wait.

Roc has also recently said he's gonna be doing something with Sean Price.

Marcberg is probably my fav album this year. It reminds me of a modern day cuban linx, just has that raw street sound, nothing artificial about it. He also has a joint with The Planets, a uk group.
