To be honest I don't think I would even if I could. In todays stale hip hop climate these legends could only go one of two ways, either sell out by dumbing down their lyrics delivered on wack hyphy/crunk/casio beats or be condemed to the underground where all great legends go to die.
It's a sad fact that dope artists that are still bringing it today are reduced to independent labels with limited resources instead of dropping on majors with constant radio play.
To be quite frank, todays (so called) hip hop youth just ain't built for our fallen legends. And just to be clear, im speaking in broad terms, im not talking about the minority like yourselves.
your completely correct. i always think about, if Biggie, Big L, or Big Pun, were alive, would they be all gay and into this lil wayne bullshit?

Pac needs to be excluded from this since technically he still drops new music.

Tupac Shakur... he would be barkin' on all this illusionary garbage that unsuspecting casual listeners have been fed for so long that it has become real.

Big L, from all the big fallen legends he has the least material.
I also believe that Biggie would be co-signing Waka & Nicki along side diddy, Pun would've probably gone the same way as Fat Joe did.

Ok imma be real here.
It'd either be a coin toss between Biggie and Big L.
Big L was on the verge of blowing up and going onto big things, he would be regarded as one of the greatest already and we didn't even see his full potential.
Biggie, he was moving onto more lighter records, it was evident from 'Sky's the Limit', he only released two albums and i would have loved seen the next project that Biggie would have done.

To be honest they all have some 'future evils' I might say...
Pun= Hardcore ass records, but you can tell some of his tracks were picked for some radio play (Notta Player) and eventually would of went down with Fat Joe. Joe would of dragged him down his route fucking with pop-producers and guest spots.
Biggie=Same as above, but Puffy's influence was getting the better of him near the end of his life.
Big L=Nearly signed by Jay-Z, what do you think would of happened?

Dilla or Biggie. One last album from the latter would have been perfect.
Life after death is still one of my favourite albums out there.

The only annoying thing about Puffy was his verse on LAD. Lyrically he didn't take anything away from Biggie (it sounds rather stupid to blame poor lyrics on another artist) and his beats were quite sweet if you ask me.

The fact that they died saved them from being able to put out any bad l.p.'s.
Big L, Dilla, Proof or Poetic

this is a depressing thread. but I'd go with either Big L or Big Pun. odb wasn't going to release any classics any time soon, and I can't handle tupac's christian propaganda anymore. biggie would've been nice, but without puff's aid.

Doc Doom was pretty sick man.
I knew there was someone we were forgetting.
Doc was nice, he was like a mini Ras Kass.
Not to take away from the kid, but he had charisma that transcended regional barriers.
