View Full Version : BET Top Ten MC of 21st Century

Dont know if this has been posted yet, but BET is doing a top ten of this decade. Oddly enough they are saying you must not have debuted before 1999 obviously to make Lil' Wayne #1 SMH that hes on any list. Also they are including eminem without oserving his 1996 release The Infinite. Obviously going to be one of the most depressing lists for this forum, but i am interested in how u think it should go. Remember nobody out before 1999 can make the list.
Not sure if i could make an ordered list myself as of now but for sure these should be on here:
Kanye West (debuted as a rapper here)
50 Cent (sometimes whack but def important and successful)
And id personally be happy with either Rick Ross Young Jeezy or Gucci Mane......anything other than Lil' Wayne or Drake who has been out for a year and already ys he should be considered.
What are your opinions?

if its rick ross or gucci thats a fucking travesty

Id consider myself lucky to have even 5 of the top ten even listenable for me. As bad as he really is......i can listen to a little gucci.
Rick Ross might not be great but i will admit he has had great albums asfar as this century is concerned

Everyone is wack.
Vote for Lupe Fiasco. He's hands down the best MC.

Not even Luda or Game...... id take both of them over lupe just my opinion.

Saigon, yo's been black-balled, hasn't dropped an official solo and his catalog is fuckin stellar.

BET is a joke.

Yea i know their list is going to be a joke, just wondering opinions of the forum within their rules seeing as there is a poll for this century including those who have debuted before.
Im sure there are at least a few rappers that could be on the list you dont consider a joke. what are they? even if you dont think theyll be recognzed
War and Peace

Technique cremates any emcee who dropped after 2G

True shit that dude is straight fire, sadly he wont get recognized on the bet list although skillwise hes off the charts of the other guys. That being said i prolly bump more game and luda then technique, but he should proly be there on this list.
Who else we missing?

50 Cent debuted in 1998 on Onyx's 3rd album, dont know why Em's on there either.
should be on there
oh and i think it would be accurate if wayne topped this list, and im not even a wayne fan like that.

guess theyre counting 50s first solo as his debut, eminem confuses me i guess theyve somehow missed infinite which i actually like.
Wayne does deserve to be on this list and this list only.
Drake has put nowhere near enogh work in to make this list i think.
Plenty of rappers deserve it more than drake, hell even nelly did more.

BET is lame, i wouldnt even acknowledge there list as anything meaningful
shit i dont even acknowledge they exist anymore, fuckin lame asses about as worse as Deaf Jam

BET is shit, but Lupe Fiasco is the best rapper on the list... he should win easily.

Wayne Debuted before 99.
I say Luda, T.I. should get a mention as well.

Waynes first solo album was 99 at least, he will be on the list.
Im not a fan of TI, just could never get into his whole vibe and think hes about the dumbest person i know about getting caught by the law. But yea he def should be on the list anywhere from 4 to 8.
Who else are we missing there must be someone over looked
