im one of those people who go through phases with hip-hop. sometimes im strong minded and like nah, i wanna listen to stuff i know is ill. other times im like, i'll tryn listenin to that album, not heard it in ages - or i'll not be able to listen to an album cos ive played it to the death when i got it.

for instance, i got my first Public Enemy album - Apocalypse 91 early this year and didnt think much to it so i left it. and then i gave it a spin a few months back and now i love Public Enemy and have since bought "It Takes a Nation..., Yo! Bum Rush the Show & Muse Sick-N-Hour-Message.

so at the minute:
Jurassic 5 - all 3 group albums
50 Cent - Guess Who's Back (last time i listened to it was a year ago, until now)
Mike Boogie - Pretox (dr.dre)
Dr.Dre - The Chronic
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle

I actually listened to Guess Who's Back for the first time in ages earlier... I thought it was weak. Lyrically 50 is better than he is now, but that still isn't great, but I admit he has a few nice lines here and there, but his flow, check 'Killa Tape Intro'... his flow is HORRIBLE. He sounds like some bucktooth computer nerd and I aint even joking. He mumbles so badly it can be painful trying to listen to what he says, he sounds like he has way too much saliva clogging up his mouth and he has an annoying nasal voice... It's only bad on that first track, and I remember hating him on Rotten Apple too. Also, you know your flow sucks when Tony Yayo outshines you. He picks up a bit as the album goes on... or maybe I just got used to it... I dunno.

Yeah so recently: yesterday it was The Chronic 2001, which I hated when I first bought it but enjoyed it when I listened yesterday for the first time in a while...

Today, Nas - Illmatic, right now it's Ironman.

i've been bumpin the cassidy - "i'm a hustla" lately, mainly just the song 6 minutes with fab and weezy, the beat got me hooked, plus the fact that there's not a lot of songs put out now that are just straight rhymin with no hook, which sounds tight to me.

Nas; Streets Disciple, its allright man with some good tracks, UBR among others, i know nas is dope man i think i'm getting bored of him, a bit like MF Doom i suppose, mebbe its just the voice thats boring me?!?! Makes some great points on this album, seems to be a little more socially consious and aware nowadays. Like on American Way, i dismissed it at first as just a funky beat, but yer " the dumb are intrigued by the drum" and i wasnt listening properly. Great song right there.

Also just got UGods Golden Arms Redemption finally, man this proves that RZA fucked that guys shit up, how can that guy make himself the beats he got on Bob Digi in stereo and then fuck Ueys up like that. And pick so many wack beats. UGod would have sounded dope as fuck over good beats and would have had a good solo set to his cred. Rumble and the track after are dope, as a are a few others.

I am quickly putting Grandmasters back in after playing these, a daily fix of new GZA rhymes is what i need son!!!
