“Power Rangers Samurai” premiering in February 2011

After the recent reacquisition from Disney, Haim Saban is moving full speed ahead with promoting his return to the Power Rangers franchise. Early next year, Nickelodeon will premiere the official 19th season of the series, entitled POWER RANGERS SAMURAI.

Saban promises that unlike Disney’s previous two installments, JUNGLE FURY (2008) and RPM (2009), the series will have a fusion of comic relief and martial arts action like their Japanese counterparts.
As with each series, a cast of newcomers will play the Power Rangers. Alex Heartman has been cast as Red Samurai Ranger Jayden. Najee-De-Tiege has been cast as Blue Samurai Ranger Kevin. Erika Fong has been cast as Pink Samurai Ranger Mia. Hector David Jr. has been cast as Green Samurai Ranger Mike. Rounding out the cast is Brittany Anne Pirtle as Yellow Samurai Ranger Emily. Supporting characters include the Rangers’ mentor Takeru, played by series veteran Rene Naufahu (POWER RANGERS SPD); and Spike, played by Felix Ryan.
The series will also not last one, but two full seasons, with a total of 40 episodes. Shooting began over the summer in New Zealand. Fans of the original Power Rangers series will also be treated in February when Nicktoons will begin to air the previous 18 seasons, beginning with 1993’s MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS.
Nickelodeon and Saban Brands released the first teaser trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSgGpde0uMs) to POWER RANGERS SAMURAI on November 24, 2010 and the new Rangers made an appearance at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
For more information on the Power Rangers universe, Saban Brands have unleashed the official Power Rangers series at http://www.powerrangers.com.
POWER RANGERS SAMURAI is scheduled to premiere on February 5, 2011 on Nickelodeon. The original Japanese series, SAMURAI SENTAI SHINKENGER, is now available on Region 2 DVD from Toei.

Is that dude actually gay?

Cuz that's not cool if so.

I use the word faggot quite freely IRL, but not towards actual gay people.

Anywhoo...No one else here was watching MMPR when ABC kids was re-airing it from January-August this year???

I was, Disney made it even shittier with corny computer graphics that weren't in the original series.

I've been playing the MMPR video games like crazy for the past few weeks.

VR Troopers too.

Anyone remember that show?

Here's the pilot, the guy who played Tommy on MMPR was supposed to be the star of it originally, but nobody would fund it so it was recast & repackaged.

Nick re-ran the first episode a trillion times and I've watched a lot.

The action sequences are sick IMO, I like all of the CG in the transformations and weapon scenes.

But I've cringed at every American cast since Turbo ended, limp dick actors with 0 personality, cute girls with small tits and a black dude and a Mexican thrown in for the sake of diversity.

Anyone know a site that streams the Japanese series' ?

I think I'd be better off watching them as intended, but I never bothered to track them down.

Also, having Bulk back for the umpteenth time is a plus for me (obviously).

The villains are kinda gay too but w/e.

Yes he is gay, at the time he was still battling with his sexuality but people already had their suspicions.
