I was wondering what other people think about the Cube movies? I liked the first one, but I didn't think the second one was as good. I'd like to see the third one, which is the prequel to the first one.

Loved the first film, the premise was great...mysterious and simple
The second film was alright, didn't really like it all that much
The prequel was good...some nice background info on what the 'cube' actually is, well if you've watched the two already, you should definitely check out Cube Zero

Only seen bit and pieces of them. They were kinda trippy.

Cube is a great film, its very mysterious and keeps you on edge. The 2nd one is that great and Cube Zero is a good film as it builds up the the first film.

Thanks for the replies.

Ironmantis, did you mean to say that the second movie isn't that great?

10-18-2005, 08:13 AM
yeah, I guess i rushed my typing and made a few mistakes.

the second one is ok but its not as good as the others, still check out for it though.

the first one was ill, pretty much 1 set for the whole flick, mainly different lighting, the simplicity was one of the things that made it so ill to me...

the second one was straight ass crack...

i've only just heard about Cube Zero when i came into this thread, so i dont know yet.

***Possible Spoilers Underneath!!!

So in Cube Zero, do you find out what might have been the mentally retarded guy's fate from the first Cube movie?

I assume that they killed the lady at the end of Part 2, cause she knew too much. But didn't she know about the Cube and some of the hidden stuff, before going into the Cube anyway?

Has anyone seen it?

It is like a sci-fi horror and suspense movie.

It is awesome.

01-10-2009, 01:38 AM
yeah the 1st was the only good one though

01-10-2009, 01:47 AM
yea, the next 2 of them are ruined by the fact the first one spoils all the surprises

01-10-2009, 01:53 AM
I've seen Cube 2: Hypercube and it sucked badly cuz the traps in the rooms sucked, and the characters also sucked and it was boring.

I think I'm gonna check out Cube Zero, though, maybe.

Ya, The first one was really intriging and fun to watch though.

I can remember seeing this years ago.
I can vividly remember a net of wire being pulled through a room cutting the shit out of someone or something like that, fucking nuts

Yeah cool flick, awesome concept for a film, just imagine waking up there one day!

So is Cube Zero like a prequel?

01-10-2009, 10:12 PM
Cube zero is a prequel according to Wikipedia. I haven't seen it yet, but want to.

Yeah, I've seen this. Cube 2 was pretty ass. The first one is really great though.

01-11-2009, 03:19 PM
Yeah Cube Zero is a bit of a trip. Its more focused on the workers behind/operating the Cube. How they run it, when they change the rooms, they show what happends when someone reaches the "end" of the cube, how & why people are placed in it.

Like has been said, the first one is solid, the second one isn't as good. I've seen some of the third one, but I still have to check it out in its entirety. I think it's still free 'On demand' right now.

01-23-2009, 04:22 AM

01-23-2009, 04:34 AM

02-17-2010, 05:06 PM

and Cube Zero

seenditit ?

02-17-2010, 05:47 PM
Yea, I saw all three. Once you see the first one, the others seem watered down.

02-18-2010, 12:27 PM
not to me

the others opened up the story more

02-18-2010, 12:37 PM
You get a small bit of debatable info at the end of the sequels. The third one I found particularly stupid.

02-18-2010, 04:40 PM
Is "Cube" the movie with the people trying to escape a huge obstacle course by counting numbers and figuring out how to get out? Honestly, i didnt know acting that bad existed outside the realm of Mexican soap operas. Garbage ass low budget flick.

The first one was definitely good. I didn't like the second one as much. I still have to see the third.

Six different people, each from a very different walk of life, awaken to find themselves inside a giant cube with thousands of possible rooms. Each has a skill that becomes clear when they must band together to get out: a cop, a math whiz, a building designer, a doctor, an escape master, and a disabled man. Each plays a part in their thrilling quest to find answers as to why they've been imprisoned.

anyone ever seen this

02-27-2012, 11:36 AM
Yeah i thought it was pretty shit

Fatal Guillotine
02-27-2012, 11:36 AM
^shit.... bad?

02-27-2012, 12:19 PM
Yeah bad, bunch of dudes wake up in a cube room with little holes into other rooms, each room has traps and shit, they gotta try and get out. Sounds interesting but its pretty bad.

I've seen it, really liked it but not seen it in years.

02-27-2012, 10:06 PM
yeah it was alright

characters were a little 2d though, the kind of black and white typical 'goodies and badies' type charcaters with stewreotypical dialogue. nevertheless as far as mystery action films goes its a good watch

02-28-2012, 04:54 AM
They're not the greatest of films but still worth a watch just to get em out the way lol

02-28-2012, 05:07 AM
iLL movie

who told you about it ?

Kind of was the point though.
David Hewlet's character explains the world as it is pretty accurately IMO.

I'm not sure but I think the sequels aren't canon to the original.

I saw Cube: Zero and it was better than the second one. It kinda reminded me of the Twlight Zone show(1980's version) in some ways

lol @ the dude with the glass eye

Eye've always really liked the first one but never even realised there were sequels.

One criticism eye would have though, is that the acting is pretty terrible for the most part. The blackish guy is just laughable. Eye'm generally not critical of acting at all, but yeah, pretty shit in this movie.
