it does matter..

because their lyrics are about different subjects..

Eminem is better than Nas at crazy / comedy type lyrics..

Nas is better than Eminem at street orientated lyrics..

some people will prefer a certain type of content over the other..

they are a mismatch for comparison..

its like saying which is a better movie..

Friday or Scarface?..

ummm nas is in a whole different galaxy compared to

"My bum is on your lips, my bum is on your lips"
And if I'm lucky, you might just give it a little kiss

Nas Escobar moving on your weak production.

It's not even a contest.

Nas. Even Em agrees. i remember in Till I Collapse he lists the best rappers of all time and he puts Nas above himself

You bitches get a hysterectomy disrespecting me
You wanna feel the full effect of me, hand a tech to me
Intellectually superior, I'll make the whack wearier
Inferior, deterior rate, like bacteria
Materially, killing serially, clearly you'll see
How much in fear when u hear me you'll be
Shiver and shake, quiver and quake
Bite a rhyme and rip it off then stiffer and ache, whither and break
You slithering snake, gibbering fake, fibbering flake
I'll twist you into a different shape
And toss you in Michigan Lake, for fisherman sake
If this is a dream you'd wish you can wake
Every dis you can take, personal
We ain't friends trying to make amends
If you ain't ever stole a gate you can take a fence
I make intense masterpieces and smash to pieces
Your last releases, you bad diseases, that's the reason
I'm showing you the proper way to operate a mic
So pass it like a hot potato
I've never been less than clever and fresh

People look too much at skill and don't look at how long a certain skill level can be sustained. Eminem has fallen off too quickly to call it true skill.

honestly i like this cause they both up in my top 5. To me, they both show crazy versatility. they can both story tell, they can both battle, they can just spit, they can both make deep tracks, pop tracks, flow, punch, em even showed similar styles to nas in infinite, so you can't say they're incomparable. But nas is goat to me, he birthed em, which em would admit. He has more various albums and he's still dope. although slim is satire, it takes away from some of the ambiguous depth nas carries.

damn. i like nas' straight street, gutter genius. and slim doesn't have an album as good as illmatic.
but slim's sense of humor is something i always liked about him. more people on this forum take shady more seriously than he has himself (with the exception of recovery).

but whens all said and done i'd rather listen to a bangin ass nas joint. one love, one time for your mind, and so on.

but one thing i will give shady over nas is his ability to switch up flows and ride beats is almost unmatched. if anything "relapse" proved that shit. i understand that the sarcasm on that album was lost on most, but that motherfucker ripped that album.
