Deck deserves to be on there for his Triumph verse alone.

It might be just me but I feel like lists like that are very redundant especially in this day & age, but good for him. He made an opinion about the history of lyricists and Hip Hop like hundreds of thousands of other people online.

You can find many lists nowadays with the click of a mouse. What we really need is stronger governing figure for Hip Hop to tach the history in the digital age. KRS and Premo would be good candidates.

Realistically, the best lyricists of all time are:
Lil Wayne
Gucci Mane
Soulja Boy
And obviously Lil B

LOL @ dude who said 2pac & Guru.

and honestly these lists get boring. obviously the same names are going to be put up there, over and over again. might as well have a definitive list compiled from a whole bunch of people's lists.

honestly, the only person who deserves to be called the greatest lyricist of all time would be G Rap. with his kind of consistency, ain't none of those cats reaching anywhere close to his level.

and i lol'd @ HOV too. HOV may be entertaining, but D'Evils is the best hes ever gotten, lyrically.

Actually a decent list for a change. I wouldn't have had Em and Jay-Z in there, but that's just me.

Surprised that Ras Kass wasn't in there because Soul on Ice>>

this original post stinks of someone trying to generate traffic to their blog, if that's indeed the case then everyone should take notes from claaa7. I'll click thru for some dope music and check back at that, but fuck your list and fuck your lame attempts at journalism (looking over at whatshisface with the pleather white couch) If I wanted to talk about it, I'd already be doing it here

LOL at niggaz hatin on Jay-Z.

One of the best to ever touch it, its not how Jay-Z rhymes, its what he says and how he uses double/triple entendres to say it. Thats lyrically genious. Not many can use entendres like Jay-Z. Not even Nas.

agreed about "D'Evils" but that's pretty god damn far lyrically if you ask me. the whole 'Reasonable Doubt' is on a whole nother level, just for that one alone he deserves to be on these lists.

he does "deserve" to be on this list. but imo, there are other rappers that deserve a spot on the list more than Jay.

Ras Kass, Pharoahe Monch.

Very good list.

Despite everyone's hate, Jay-Z deserves to be on there. Great Lyricism isn't saying a bunch of shit fast, it's having unique word play with layers of metaphors and creativity. Can I Live is one of the best hip-hop songs of all time.

Jay deserves to be on the list, although none of his post retirement stuff has helped his case.
