Name albums that to you are classics, but never had the commercial success and impact on hip hop to be considered true classics.

For me, there are a couple-
Canibus-Rip The Jacker: This is an incredible album, the beats are dope throughout with Stoupe from JMT excelling and Canibus comes with amazing lyrics, particularly on tracks like Poet Loreate II, Showtime at The Gallows, Genabis, Levitibus, the albums' crazy. Not one weak track.

Immortal Technique-Revolutionary Vol. 2: This is another album that will simply never have the commercial success to be a true classic but deserves to be. The content of every fuckin' track is amazing with tecknique bringing politics, emotion, social commentary to the table backed up by dope beats. There isnt really anything that compares to this album right now in terms of what is being rapped about and the extent to which he goes into detail about his opinions of the world around him. Dope!!!

Drop some opinions...........

Blackstar - Talib Kweli And Mos Def Are...
This is one of the last great albums of the 90's. Some of the best concious rap ever to be recorded, not to mention the production is top notch. MD and TK were at an early stage of their careers but they were already showing off their great talents. But for some reason this album is rarely mentioned...

If you're talking commercial success, there are lots... but a lot of those were still well received by the "underground" community - those who know good hip-hop. Blackstar is a good example of that.

Anyway, albums that I love that I'm not sure anyone else does:

ATCQ - The Love Movement
Craig Mack - Operation: Funk Da World
Wyclef Jean - The Carnival
Fu-Schnickens - Breakdown (don't know why, got this tape when I was like 12...)

Just a few... peace.
