Mobb Deep + NaS = Eargasm

claaa7
04-02-2011, 03:43 PM
^ YES!!!

....but it's must be over a decade since we heard a Mobb Deep collabo with NaS, goddamn! On top of that it's produced by Havoc AND The Alchemist (especially Hav's beat on Rae's latest shows he still got that gritty QB style in him), and if that wasn't enough they got Eddie Sancho to engineer it - one of the best hip-hop technicians ever, responsible for helping DJ Premier create countless classics.

I'm hyped as hell, this can only go two ways - absolute masterpiece a/k/a instant classic or unbelivably dissapointing. We'll just have to wait and see.

Eddie Sancho and DJ Premier was the best producer/engineer ever, a good engineer is extremely important and i doubt tracks like "Nas is Like", "Stick to Ya Gunz", "Face Off 2000", "Code Of The Streets", "The 6th Sense", etc, etc would've sounded exactly as good without Eddie's input. as Lil' Fame said: "when we come together we make magic come true/ like Premier and Eddie Sancho" something like that anyways.

yeah i remember that, hopefully Q-Tip will be involved in the new Mobb album altho I can't stand another sequel at this point. One of the many things that made "The Infamous..." such an amazing album was The Abstract's three beats and single guest verse. it added a new dimension to it, joints like "Drink Away The Pain" and "Give Up The Goods" was a real nice contrast to "The Start Of Your Ending", "Shook Ones Part II", "Eye For An Eye", etc. which made it much more well-rounded than "Hell On Earth". H.O.E. is an amazing album too, but i prefer "The Infamous" slightly and it's mainly because of what I said above.

"One Love" was an equally amazing record that fit Nas perfectly but "American Way" was a totally different story lol. so maybe they won't have that chemistry anymore but who knows. come to think about it, i could kind of hear P and Hav on that "Chain Heavy" beat Tip gave to Kanye.

^ ah good catch, i forgot about that one - i think that was in 2004?? good song though, altho it doesn't have Havoc on either beat or verse as "Dog Shit" will :) and don't underestimate the power of Eddie Sancho y'all!

i just listened to "Dog Shit" and "Love Y'All More" back-to-back and the Mobb is officially back. both of this tracks are definitely album worthy, people were complaining that "Love Y'All More" was too soft (how fucking stupid is that), it's a soulful joint that's just beautiful and it would sound perfect on an album surrounded by hardcore tracks like "Dog Shit" and P and Hav ripping beats like "Your World & My World".

this Havoc solo joint that dropped right before P was released is fucking heavy too. beat is crazy

3o7_KqtqKjs

btw, did a CDQ/no DJ version of "Love..." ever leak?

I can't say this made me anticipate Nas' next solo lp less. He's like 40 but still rapping like there's no tomorrow. That's passion you can't buy.

word to this

although monch doesn't have as much of his own solo released material as nas. however his OK work should compensate for having only three solos under his belt.

EDIT: Matter fact, KGR is really the king of NY, or whatever you wanna call him. top tier is he.

nas takes this no doubt, on point, makes me question why he would send rae an old verse for SvW and then go in the studio with mobb and give us something new...?

Jin10304
04-06-2011, 04:50 PM
I believe that was more Raekwon & Sean C/LV's. They BOTH talked as if they were literally in the recording booth WITH Nas physically there lol. Maybe they told Rae that Nas didnt have time to record with him and only mailed in his verse.

04-08-2011, 08:22 PM
After theses last two tracks im so pumped for a new mobb album never thought id say that in 2011.
