It has been announced that Detroit, Michigan emcees Eminem and Royce Da 5'9 will revive their late '90s duo Bad Meets Evil. RapRadar.com has reported that Em and one of his longtime friends and Shady Records artist (by way of Slaughterhouse) Royce are planning an EP to release on June 14.

The group, which had been rumored to be working on a similar project over 12 years ago, has reunited recently, and begun working on songs such as "Echo" and "Writers Block".

Eminem said the following in a released statement, "Royce and I started hanging out again and inevitably that led us back into the studio. At first we were just seeing where it went without any real goal in mind, but the songs started to come together crazy, so here we are."

Production will be reportedly handled by Havoc of Mobb Deep, Mr. Porter, Bangladesh and DJ Khalil.

Better late than never, I suppose.

This is some good news, hopefully these times don't change how it woulda been if dropped 12 years ago...Royce still got it, EM comes with some hot shit once in awhile... highly anticipating this one, I can see some heavy rotation.

Hey if they can get some boom bap beats and direct this strictly to their hip hop fanbase, then I'm guessing this album will be quite the mindfuck.

Although... the beats better not be on some yawn shit like Laughterhouse

It's good to see these two together again. Havoc with a track? Oh yeah!

I still bump this on a regular...

If they keep it in the vein of this it could be sick.

The beat from GTA3 /\

after so many collabo albums have gone awry, I have low expectations....

these things almost never unfold properly....

04-26-2011, 06:47 PM
anticipating that sooooooooooooooo much

04-26-2011, 10:27 PM
Hopefully Eminem will step his game up alongside Royce. Royce has been killing it lately.

Em raps like an idiot now and couldn't pick a dope beat today to save his life.

Wayyyy too late for this.

yeah, if they have those weak ass recovery beats on this it will be a damn shame.

but its bound to have a banger or two.

im glad these 2 are making records together again. royce has been one of the very few who can hang with slim on a track. (xzibit as well)

Definatly lookin forward to this even though it's long overdue, give us an LP though rather than an EP!

04-27-2011, 07:12 PM
Problem is em practically refuses to pick decent beats

If this EP is well recieved, then an LP is all the more likely.

But they're probably working on one anyway and just throwing the EP out to test the waters.

The first single dropped...same situation, horrible beat and hook...good verses.

this is not how it would've sounded 12 years ago....

Better than I expected. Flow wise Eminem hasn't sounded this hungry and focused since Relapse. Nice, catchy beat too.

Normally not a fan of Royce but he's doing his thing on this one.

My only fear is that the ep won't have any concepts and just will be a lot of random shock value content. Relapse had some nice concepts though so I'm hopeful.

Looking forward to hearing him on some beats from Havoc, Porter and Khalil again :) Please let Black Milk have a beat there too.

Word. A whole Bad Meets Evil EP with only punchlines is going to be boring as shit..

With that said, I like this track. Beat is dope, hook is a Nate Dogg knock-off, but it's decent. I can't stand Em's delivery anymore and there's plenty of corniness in here, but overall the verses was pretty aiight as well. Royce was dope, especially his second verse.
