Northstar is really a new sound for a Wu affiliated album. A West Coast duet of Christ Bearer & Meko with a more gangsta style from Long Beach, CA. I think RZA made a good choise with these two. Released in 2004 it was definitley a new sound for the Wu, but still has the crazy lyrics on top of wild beats. My favorite songs from the album were Crazy & Ballin'. I would give this album a 4 out of 5 but thats my opinion, thats why I chose to do this review, so I could here yours. I know many won't approve of my giving this album a 4 out of 5, because Wu has always been a more East Coast assosiated crew, but in my opinion there aint nuttin wrong wit tryin somethin new, and this is definetly new. So weather East Coast, or West Coast the Wu is truely spreading with artists now on both sides of the U.S.

I like for what it is, some wu sound with alot west coast sound together
Could of been better with some better beats, there is few very bad ones
And RZA beats was hhhm...but other than that you have a nice album with average lyrics

Overall (6.5) album or something....

8-9/10 tracks:
1. Luv Allah ft. Kinetic
2. We Got It ft. Freemurder
7. Nuttin' ft. 9th Prince

6-7/10 tracks:
10. 64
12. Duckie
13. Ballin' ft. Suga Bang Bang, Solomon Childs
15. Black Knights of Northstar ft. Doc Doom, Midnight

i hated this album at first but it grew on me. some very funky tracks, like so so serious. i don't bump it on the regular but it's a solid effort and probably the most unique sound in the wu camp right now. RZA gives us some of his most electronic beats ever which is disappointing but some of them are good. the MCs have a sense of humor too, "NORTH STAR AND THE R Z A, RED RUM RED RUM RED RUM RUN AWAY!!"

so i give it like a 7/10

This was better than the slew of Wu albums that came out at the end of 2003. A few weak tracks, but a very solid effort. 3.5/5

Average album (maybe 6,5/10), but there're two just incredibly ill tracks: "Luv Allah" & "Nuttin'". Beats of this two are amazing:vroar: Christbearer is a really good MC

Dark tracks?......are you kidding?, you only have to look at the album cover to know it ain't gonna have no dark joints on there.

One thing I really liked about this album was that despite some of it's faults, it was able to achieve two things.

1.Sound like a westcoast album.
2.Sound like a killa bee album.

i really liked this album. i give it a 8/10 on some real shit. be serious 10/10 is reserved for some classic ass shit, but this is up there. they sound different and i appreciate taht about an artitst(s).

i suggest checking out their "underground shit vol.1" i dont know if this is even an offical release but i got it someplace and its for the most part all shti i ahvent heard before and its almost all good. i think i might even like it better than the album so check it.

yeah word, this is a dope album, it manages to be unmistakably wu yet still have a crisp sounding west coast flavor. lyrically both dudes are nice on the mic and theres dope guest spots too, one of the best killa bee albums ive heard.

Christbearer and Meko are the shit, dope MCs. i especially dig Christ with his ill unique flow, but they compliment well. To me they're far superior to the Black Knights minus Warcloud
Some beats really are mediocre on this album (the RZA ones are awful in particular), but overall i kinda like it, something like 3 mics...
Ballin and Duckie are dope joints, Luv Allah, Nuttin and Crazy are really good ones. Plus Simply Ludicrous (renamed Black Knights Of The North Star in there) as the cherry on top, this song is crazy... Christ's verse is classic, i can see why he re-used it.

I hate the fact that Christbearer reused a verse (and on the same album). To me that was a big minus against this group, it shows lazy album making.

Received it today.

Christ Bearers voice cracks me up everytime he starts a verse.

Nice album.

whoever voted classic gotta be taking the piss!!! I gave Freemurda the classic as a joke cause the album was that bad, but this album is not classic, there are some good tracks but no more than 7/10.
The Rza beats were a major let down for me, kinda expected more.

Armand van Helden did the best beats IMO.

It's a banger.

Armand van Helden did the best beats IMO.

definitely agree with ya on that one, did you hear the beat he gave Last Emperor for his album? He should bring out a hip-hop album.

Rame

Haven't heard that song yet.

Don't know him that well but his hiphop beats I heard are great, also his house and videos have a lot of hiphop influences, that's cool.

7/10, it seems that Christbearer is clearly a favorite here but Meko appeals to me more, he just flows better that Christ I think. Both of em are dope tho', propper west coast killa bee sound.

I have always loved this album, the vibe to it is just crazy. Christ and Meko both are top notch and the guest spots are ill. B9 and 9th Prince are the highlight guest spots as well as the Black Knights on the ending track. One thing about the cd is i love bumpin it in my car, just classic drivin music in the summer days.

Best tracks: Duckie, Luv Allah, Crazy, Nuttin, Destiny and Ballin
