I don't like the sample and the drums don't move. I don't really have anything nice to say about it to be honest.

No worries. 95% of what I made I think is wack. I actualy only like 4 or 5 beats I ever made.

The beat is not bad, but i would make the drums a little bit dirtier.

No hate. Ok, it wasn't very constructive criticism from my part, but when you're doing it right I'll let you know.

Ok, I'll try it again...

The sample, although original choice, just doesn't suit the whole thing. The tempo of it seemed off and I just didn't like how it sounds.
The drums are still too mechanic and don't have that swing. Just listen to this guy, he'll explain it.

Bronze , you flipped the turn-around of the sample nicely.I forgot to comment bout the beat but I heard it when you dropped it.

i always have to quantize cuz whenever i hit a key its like an eighth of a bar off due to latency, but even then i'll manually move some of the notes slightly off, and always vary the velocity
thats why i want some hardware though, noooo latency issues

rza used to play all his hi hats live through the whole track

Thank god I have a good soundcard, with 2 ms latency and delay compensation, but yeah, hardware is the best choice.

I usually use the AD midi files and shift things or remove the hats and play them unquantized.

good idea too - ive only messed with the midi fills
you use an external sound card? i need to buy somethin but dont know exactly what to look for in one

when this legal BS blows over i think ima pick up an SP 404 though, you can find em for right around $200 these days

Nah, internal. That's why I have such a low latency. I don't know how much you want to spend, but you can get one of those Juli@ cards for 100. They have good driver support and low latency.
