For me it's a toss-up between Forever and The Art of War.

If we're talking hip hop, then I'd say that "Wu-Tang Forever" is the best double album. If we were talking music as a whole, I'd probably have to think about that a bit before I could be comfortable giving "Forever" the title of best double-CD album ever, but I'd almost certainly still put it in the top 3. Every other hip hop double CD that I've heard have way more filler than "Forever" has (which is next to none; I'd say maybe the intro (which I like, but I can see how others wouldn't be into it), and the last 3 tracks (I usually just end my listening after "Heaterz")).

Forever, I can only think of a handful off the top of my head so maybe I'm missing one but its going to be hard to top Forever

top 3 is Forever, All Eyez On Me and Gang Starr FULL CLIP ;)

Full Clip shouldn't count as it's a greatest hits

just learned that the first Hip Hip Double Album was DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince "He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper." Vinyl & Cassette releases were 85mins long but was edited to 72mins for the CD release.

hmm didn't know that.. that's the exact same thing with "Mecca & The Soul Brother" too, the vinyl and cassettes features remixes of "The Creator" and "Mecca & The Soul Brother" at the end of side C and beginning of side D respectively.

Streets Disciple was good but Wu-Tang Forever is the only double-cd that had any right to be that long (w/very little filler) Life After Death is a real good album but theres alot of wack shit on there not as much as on All Eyez on Me tho

Forever clearly shouldn't have been a double-CD.
It was filled with filler tracks.
SD had a good few filler tracks too.
Life After Death is way overrated and the 2nd disk on All Eyez On Me is almost entirely filler.

AHoBI > All of them.

AHoBI? whats that shit?

"Where contemporaries like 2Pac (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupac_Shakur) and The Notorious B.I.G. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Notorious_B.I.G.) issued double-discs cluttered with filler, Wu-Tang Forever is purposeful and surprisingly lean, illustrating the immense depth of producer RZA and the entire nine-piece crew... The result is an intoxicating display of musical and lyrical virtuosity, one that reveals how bereft of imagination the Wu-Tang's contemporaries are"

There extremelly little filler on Forever maybe 1-2 tracks depending on yr tastes (Not a huge fan of "The City") But easily a classic album No other hip-hop double album omes close not sure what a Ahobi is

AHoBI = A Heap of Broken Images by Blue Sky Black Death.

Disk 1 is god-like instrumentals.
Disk 2 is their beats being rapped over by features like Jus Allah, Guru, Rob Sonic, Warcloud, Mikah 9, Virtuoso, Awol One and more.

Forever was inconsistent.
It's dope album, no doubt. But it's often overrated.

BlueSky BlackDeath really? I'll check that out Ive liked the shit Ive heard. But to me Forever is faaar from inconsistent and the only hiphop 2c that has any right to be so long
