Thanks for the link. I have an interview of the great Kool G Rap at my blog right now where he has similar feelings about today's generation of Hip Hop when asked about how it compares to the past.

damn this doc is sad. i was surprised to hear that so many rappers were smoking crack freely in the 80s. i remember sadat x had a video on worldstar saying the same thing. him and lord jamar used to smoke crack in their blunts on the rooftops.

i remember watching some documentary a few years ago on VH1 about the history of hip hop. it was like 4 parts. it was called And You Don't Stop: 30 Years Of Hip Hop. pretty good. is this like that one?

^It's a crack documentary, so probably not.
It does, however, show how Hip Hop sprung out of that age and how it influenced Hip Hop and (sort of) created the golden age.

Great documentary, and everyone who likes Hip Hop will find this interesting and should def watch. Actually, everyone should see this regardless of their opinions on Hip Hop.
