what yall got as your top albums or the year?
there been a whole bunch of good shit to drop this year, and we still got a couple months left for artists to squeeze in a few gems.
some of my favourites so far this year
Monumental - classic joint for me, return to form from Smif n Wessun and Pete Rock def showed off his MPC skills, i cant wait to hear Petestrumentals 2 with him on MPC, should be a way better showcase and shut the complainers up.
Legendary Weapons - while this might not have made as much noise as some releases this year, it def was one of my top spun records. nothing mind blowing on this one but just made for a real entertaining listen all the way through.
Random Axe - to be honest, this was a good album but i was left wanting more or needed more from the album. still a highlight of the year for me, Black Milk showing some great improvement on the boards with this one too.
From Babylon to Timbuktu - prolly my favourite release of year right now, been waiting on a Timbo King solo for sometime now and this record here did not disappoint for any hip hop fan. strong beats with even stronger emceeing. a must have for 2011 and for any hip hop enthusiest.
W.A.R. - solid effort from Pharoah Monche. didnt disappoint but didnt make me stop and make that "oh shit!' face really either. certainly was one of the better albums to drop this year though. Monche hasnt really lost a step in his delivery and lyrics. still has the distinct voice and flow, but i felt some of the beats could have been stronger.

this year it's been R&B >>> Hip Hop by a mile.
Drake's album ain't drop yet and since he's given us nothing but gems all year I'd say that's probably gonna be a contender
Other than that.....Rubba Band Business 2 (even though it's a mixtape)

Noone listen to cumshotstheone. he couldnt relate to the hip hop culture, EVEN IF HE WAS BLACK!!!
his taste in hip hop mirrors his taste in women.
