Not too much is the nown about the duo that goes under the name of Rawcotiks, except that they dropped a bunch of seriously dope 12":s and guested on a few albums by the likes of Beatnuts and DJ Honda in the late '90s. The duo consisted of two Dominician-American emcees from Washington Heights, NYC. They dropped about six singles between 1996 and 2001 that are all out of print now and it's a shame they never got to release a full-length considereng how sick most of those releases were. One of the reasons could be that they jumped from label to label and have been free agents since they last single on Fat Beats, "Introducing the Raw" in 2001. Between those periods they released a bunch of very solid 12" releases with help of some legendary producers and guest artists as well as some top of the line producers.

Thanks to my main man Linkan who put me on to them again, I have collected pretty much all of their material in the following compilation I put together for you're listening pleasure. The DJ Premier remix of "Hardore Hip-Hop" was the first joint iv'e heard from the Dominican-American rapper and I always loved it so I made it the title of the compilation. In fact, most of the songs these two ever released as a group is represented on this "album"; all the 12"s, B-sides and even some guest features from them on albums by The Beatnuts, Al'Tariq and orhers. TURN IT UP and shouts to Lincoln, much appreciated homie!
