This crazy slut that cooked her husband after killing him, and ate his BBQ'd ribs, thinks that she should get out of prison? If it was a man that did that to a woman, he would have gotten the death penalty. She didn't even get life in prison?

__________________________________________________ _______________________-
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A woman who killed her newlywed husband and chopped and cooked his body parts over Thanksgiving weekend in 1991 is seeking release from a California prison.

Omaima Nelson, an Egyptian-born former model and nanny, is set to appear before parole commissioners Wednesday at the Central California Women's Facility in Chowchilla where she has been serving a life sentence.

Nelson was convicted of murdering her 56-year-old husband William Nelson in a grisly killing that authorities likened to the fictional slayings of Hannibal Lecter.

Prosecutors said the then-23-year-old killed Nelson and likely plotted to steal from him as she had done with other middle-aged men she had seduced in the past. Authorities said she tied up her husband of less than a month, killed him and dismembered the body, churning his parts through a garbage disposal that neighbors said ran nonstop in the hours after the murder.

Authorities found some of Nelson's body parts stuffed in garbage bags and mixed with leftover Thanksgiving turkey. His hands had been fried in oil and his head boiled and stuffed in freezer, said Randy Pawloski, a senior deputy district attorney in Orange County who prosecuted the case and will argue against her release.

"She's tremendously dangerous," said Pawloski, adding that Nelson sought help from two different boyfriends to try to remove her husband's teeth and dispose of his remains to cover her tracks.

During the highly publicized trial, Nelson took the stand and said she stabbed her husband — a former pilot and convicted drug smuggler — with scissors while he sexually assaulted her. A psychiatrist testified that she confessed to cooking her husband's ribs barbecue-style and tasting them but later denied engaging in cannibalism. He said he believed she was psychotic when she killed Nelson.

Defense attorney Thomas Mooney argued his client was circumcised as a child growing up in a squalid section of Cairo, which made sex extremely painful, and was repeatedly raped and abused by her husband in the weeks after the couple wed.

Jurors found Nelson not guilty of first-degree murder, citing insufficient evidence of premeditation, but convicted her of second-degree murder. They also found Nelson guilty of assaulting a former boyfriend with a gun.

She is serving a prison sentence of 25 years to life.

Nelson appealed but lost in 1995. In 2006, she sought parole claiming she had found salvation as a born-again Christian and married an older man, who has since died. But parole was denied by commissioners who found her unpredictable and a serious threat to public safety.

Nelson told the parole board she had been living in the fast lane, hopping from man to man and drinking and using drugs. She told a prison-appointed psychologist that she had thought about killing Nelson before carrying out the murder.

"I felt that I was doing the right thing by exercising this judgment as I was killing him," she said during her 2006 parole hearing. "I'm not denying that I did what I did and I'm very sorry for the ... family..."

Terrence Scott, who represented Nelson on appeal, said he doubted she would be released except perhaps to a mental institution. He said she had chopped up her husband in an effort to avoid meeting him in the afterlife in accordance with Egyptian mythology.

Mooney, who represented Nelson during her trial, said prisoners serving life sentences aren't often released but hoped she might be.

"It was a question not of whodunit but what is it," Mooney said this week. "Based on the totality of the circumstances, the fact I think she was abused, and killed in response to that, she should get paroled."

So this broad went from death row.. to life in prison.. to being let of jail.. not because she was found to be innocent. No, because she's a woman? Hmm

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Memphis woman who spent 26 years on death row and came within two months of being executed for hiring a stranger to kill her husband was freed Friday from a Tennessee prison.

Gaile Owens, 58, was greeted by a small group of supporters outside Tennessee's Prison for Women. Owens was all smiles as she pushed a yellow laundry cart containing her belongings past the prison's razor-wire fence to freedom.

Owens was sentenced to die in 1985, but her death sentence was commuted to life in prison last year and she won parole last week.

Once out, she gave her son, Stephen Owens, a long embrace, as well as a former cellmate who is now free.

Owens issued a statement before leaving. She said she feels a "responsibility to give back to those who have given so much to me."

"I'm looking forward to leading a quiet, private, but productive life," Owens said. "But more than anything, I'm looking forward to being a mother and a grandmother. I can't wait to see my grandchildren, and to fulfill my dream of walking in the park with my family."

Stephen Owens, who is now grown and his children of his own, said he realized the transition for his mother was not going to be easy.

"This will be a slow process, but we will focus on one day at a time," said Stephen, adding that's he's looking forward to spending the rest of the day with his mother. "The days ahead will be completely new and different for all of us; but as always our confidence and trust are in God."

Supporters had urged her release, claiming she was a battered wife who didn't use that defense because she didn't want her young sons to know about the physical and sexual abuse.

John Seigenthaler, founder of the First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University and an Owens supporter, said the first time he met her nearly three years ago, he could tell she was sincere and fearful of the future.

"Clearly she was afraid she was going to die," he said Friday.

Owens' sentence was commuted to life in prison in July 2010 by former Gov. Phil Bredesen. He acknowledged the abuse claims but gave a different reason for his decision to spare her life. Bredesen said prosecutors had agreed not to seek the death penalty if Owens pleaded guilty but then put her on trial when her co-defendant wouldn't accept the deal.

Sidney Porterfield, the man she was accused of hiring to kill her husband with a tire iron, was also sentenced to death. He is still on death row.

At the time Owens was imprisoned, a life sentence meant serving 30 years and she was eligible to be released now because of good conduct.

Many of the supporters who greeted Owens when she was released said she had a strong faith while incarcerated and was heavily involved in prison ministry.

Marshall Chapman, a singer/songwriter and supporter, acknowledged Owens committed a terrible crime, but said she believes in redemption.

"And I feel like she's paid her debt to society," Chapman said.

Why is the guy that was hired to do the murder still on death row, while the woman who hired him is free? lol

I get the feeling that a lot more women are going to try to use the 'battered spouse' defense in the future. They can just make up stories about being physically abused for years if they want, and get off killing their husbands. Plus even if you are actually battered by your spouse, why are you still in the relationship ya stupid slut?

Rudy Guede

Rudy Hermann Guede (born 26 December 1986, Abidjan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abidjan), Côte d'Ivoire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%C3%B4te_d%27Ivoire)) was 20 years old at the time of the murder.[19] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-18) He had arrived in Perugia at the age of five with his father, Roger, who found work there as a stonemason. Guede told friends that he had not met his father before going to live in Italy, but had been raised until then by his mother, Agnes. He saw his mother just once more, when he returned to Côte d'Ivoire for a visit in 1997.[20] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-Burleigh90-19) After arriving in Italy, Guede was raised with the help of his school teachers, a local priest and others, who would take it in turns to buy him food and clothes; one of the teachers told Nina Burleigh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nina_Burleigh) that Guede would sometimes sleep in the street after his father locked him out of the house at night as a punishment.[21] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-20)

His father returned to Côte d'Ivoire in 2004, leaving his 16-year-old son to be looked after by his common-law wife, but there was friction between the boy and the woman.[20] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-Burleigh90-19) One of his former teachers arranged for him to be adopted by one of Perugia's wealthiest families, who agreed to look after him until he was eighteen. Burleigh writes that he was given his own apartment in a gated villa, spent summer with the family in Sardinia and winter in the Dolomites, and was sent to a good school.[22] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-Burleigh95-21) He also played basketball for the Perugia youth team in the 2004–2005 season.[23] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-Rdrug-22) But in his second year with the family, the relationship began to break down.

He stopped attending school, failed his exams, and when the family insisted that he work instead, would repeatedly turn up late for a job they gave him as a gardener. In the end, they asked him to leave their home.[22] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-Burleigh95-21) In 2007 he went to stay with an aunt in Lecco (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lecco), near Milan, where he worked in a cafe, then lost the job and returned to Perugia in the spring of that year.[24] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-23) Just before Kercher's murder, he was arrested in Milan after breaking into a nursery school to sleep there; when police found him he was reportedly holding an 11-inch knife.[25] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-Squires29Oct2008-24)

He came to know Kercher after becoming friendly with the young men who lived in the apartment in Perugia below Kercher and Knox, at which point he was sometimes pretending to be an American by the name of Kevin Wade, or a South African known as Body Roga or "the Baron."[26] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-25) He travelled to Germany immediately after the murder, but was extradited to Italy to stand trial.[27] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-BBC7May2010-26) The court heard that his DNA was found on Kercher's body and on a bloody handprint in her room. In interviews, he acknowledged being in the apartment when she was killed and having had sex with her—which he said was consensual—and told police he had seen her body shortly after the attack, but had been too afraid to call for help.

He insisted that another man had committed the murder while he was in the bathroom listening to his iPod; he said he had caught sight of the man as the latter fled the apartment, and variously said he had not recognized him or that he had resembled Raffaele Sollecito. He also alleged that Knox had been in the apartment at the time, and that he had heard her arguing with Kercher.[28] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-Squires5Dec2009-27) He was sentenced in October 2008 to 30 years' imprisonment, reduced on appeal in December 2009 to 16 years.[29] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Meredith_Kercher#cite_note-28)

Commentary: What Will Happen to Rudy Guede?

Though Knox and her Italian boyfriend have been freed, an African immigrant involved with the duo remains behind bars.

By Cord Jefferson

The verdict heard around the world Monday came from an Italian court freeing Amanda Knox (http://www.npr.org/templates/archives/archive.php?thingId=103943429&date=10-3-2011&archiveAnchorId=141003251#archivestory140994384), a 24-year-old American woman who’d previously been convicted of murder. In 2009 Knox was convicted of murdering her roommate, Meredith Kercher, while in Perugia, Italy as an exchange student. Though she’d initially been sentenced to 26 years, an appeals court composed of two judges reversed Knox’s conviction and freed her yesterday. The court also released Raffaele Sollecito, Knox’s former boyfriend.

One person who didn’t get out of prison yesterday is Rudy Guede, an Ivory Coast native who was convicted as an accomplice of Knox and Sollecito. Prosecutors had alleged that Knox, Sollecito, Guede and Kercher had participated in a drug-fueled sex game that went awry, leading to Kercher’s death. But later DNA evidence poked holes in that theory, exonerating Knox and Sollecito. Prosecutors say they’re going to appeal Knox and Sollectio being freed. In the meantime, the question of what’s going to happen to Guede is the one on everyone’s mind.

By all accounts, Guede and Knox were only very casual acquaintances, and Sollecito didn’t know Guede at all. So the question of why Knox, Sollecito and Guede would be engaged in a sexual tryst was always one that plagued the trial. Nevertheless, though Guede has said that he was present in Kercher’s apartment the night of the murder, he has simultaneously maintained that Knox and Sollecito were with him. And when Guede was convicted, the court acknowledged that he didn’t act alone, though Sollecito and Knox were never mentioned by name as being his accomplices. Where that leaves the case is in a strange and confusing state in which Guede says Knox and Sollecito are guilty, the court says Guede is guilty but not alone, and Knox and Sollecito say they are totally innocent and weren’t at Kercher’s apartment the night of the killing.

In light of Knox and Sollecito’s release, Guede now says he’s also going to ask for a retrial (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/10/04/501364/main20115400.shtml). The difference for Guede, however, is that he’s far less of a sympathetic case than Knox. A smalltime drug dealer and Black African immigrant, Guede's case is not the same kind of front-page tabloid fodder as Knox, a pretty, young white American woman. To many people, Guede looks like a killer, while Knox does not. That’s not to say that the Italian courts are necessarily racist, of course. But the facts are the facts: The white woman and man are free. The Black man remains in prison.

Toronto woman acquitted in stabbing death of boyfriend

TORONTO — Melissa Lewis, who stabbed her boyfriend to death in front of their six-year-old daughter, was acquitted of all charges late Friday night, leaving court a free woman, surrounded by her tearful family.

“Melissa was found not guilty on all charges. She was cleared of second-degree murder. She was cleared of manslaughter. She was freed tonight and walked out of the courthouse with her family,” said her lawyer, Howard Goldkind.

At her trial, the jury heard two competing versions of the fatal outcome of her toxic relationship with Jermaine “Mec” Gillespie, 25. Goldkind told court she was a battered woman who lashed out in fear to protect herself and her family after years of abuse. Crown prosecutor Jill Witkin, however, portrayed her as a conniving, jealous woman who refused to let her boyfriend end their relationship.

Goldkind said it was rare for a jury to grant a complete not guilty verdict in a case where the attacker admitted doing the stabbing but argued it was a justified act.
At trial, Lewis, also 25, admitted she plunged a 30-centimetre knife into Gillespie’s neck on May 29, 2010, as he sat behind the wheel of a car in Toronto. Lewis was sitting in the back seat beside the couple’s six-year-old daughter. Her father was in the front passenger seat.

The knife was wielded as the couple argued and Gillespie shouted abusive, belittling comments at Lewis and reached around towards the back seat. She told the jury she thought he was reaching for a gun and feared he might shoot her and her family.

She “snapped,” Goldkind told the jury in his summation of the case. “He had beaten her self-worth out of her.”

The jury had been deliberating since late Thursday.

Gillespie had previously been charged with assaulting Lewis, but afterwards, she continued their relationship, visiting him in jail and hoping to marry him.

“This relationship was not destined to have a happy ending,” he said. “She loved him from Day 1 and, I’m going to tell you today, she loves him as I’m talking to you.”
Witkin, however, told the jury on Wednesday that the evidence suggested the abuse was being exploited as a legal defence.

“The past abuse is greatly exaggerated. … It is used as a smokescreen to justify the position Ms. Lewis found herself in,” Witkin said.

“She did not stab him out of fear. She stabbed him because of jealousy,” she said.
The trial featured the riveting and heart-rending testimony of the couple’s daughter, who cannot be named because of a court order.

“My mom, I don’t know why she was carrying a knife,” the girl said; “she pulled it out and — this is the truth — she, she stabbed my daddy right here,” she said, slapping the side of her neck.

“And blood came out.”

“I love him with all my heart and my mom, too, but I wonder why she did that.”

Amanda Knox did not kill her room mate...

I'm sure you're an expert in the legal process and how badly Italy botched that investigation.

She'd never even be put on trial in the united states on that kind of non existent evidence.

Casey Anthony didn't kill her daughter either. The only thing she's guilty of is being a fan of the buckeyes. That and being mentally ill, but that doesn't mean she killed her daughter.

Let's see if this broad gets away with a crime also. The kid just happens to disappear right after the father gets granted visitation rights. She could have came up with a more logical 'story'.

--Police: Wash. mother's car had gas in test drive

SEATTLE (AP) — The car a woman says ran out of gas — leading to the disappearance Sunday of her 2-year-old son — ran just fine Friday when police took it for a test drive. No gas was added before the test and no mechanical problem was found, police said.

With Sky Metalwala still missing, more suspicion is falling on his mother Julia Biryukova to explain about the car and other discrepancies in her story.

Since reporting her son missing she has been speaking to police through a lawyer and has not responded to requests made Thursday to speak to investigators voluntarily, said Maj. Mike Johnson.

There's not enough evidence to name Biryukova as a suspect, Johnson said at a news conference in Bellevue. "At this point, we don't have it."

"What we've tried to do is present the facts as we see them, and if that cast suspicion on Julia it's the facts speaking, not us," Johnson said.

At what point does she become a suspect? he was asked.

"I don't have the answer," he said.

Could she face charges such as making a false report?

"It's something we'll look at once the dust settles on the missing person portion of the investigation," Johnson said.

The disappearance of the boy remains a gnawing problem for more than 150 local and state police and FBI agents. Police say the mother's story is full of holes. She says she was taking Sky to a hospital when the car stopped, so she left him alone in the unlocked car and took his 4-year-old sister to go for gas. When she returned an hour later, she says, he was gone.

Police hit another dead end with a shoe that was found along the road Thursday evening.

"We don't believe that's Sky's shoe," Johnson said. It's not the right size and dogs didn't pick up the boy's scent.

Police continue to receive tips from the public — people who think they saw Sky, mothers who want to help, even psychics. Everything is being checked out of hope that the boy will be found alive.

Police are operating on that assumption.

It's also the belief of Sky's father, Solomon Metalwala. He hasn't seen his children since December of last year because of a divorce and custody dispute.

The parents had reached a tentative agreement for visitation after a 12-hour mediation session last week. But Biryukova backed out of the agreement on Friday — two days before she reported Sky missing.

Metalwala says Biryukova suffers from severe obsessive-compulsive disorder and goes on cleaning binges in which she wouldn't feed the children. But a doctor said her diagnosis didn't interfere with her ability to care for the kids.

The 4-year-old daughter was taken into the care of state Child Protective Services after her brother was reported missing.

The family has a previous record of leaving Sky alone in a car in a store parking lot in Redmond when he was 3-months old. Court records show he was alone for nearly an hour on a 27-degree day in December 2009 before police had the car owner's paged.

Police cited both parents for reckless endangerment. The case was dismissed early this year after the couple completed a year's probation, community service and a 10-week parenting class.
