Action Bronson put out some killer material in 2011, and it's only gonna get better from here.

I don't think I've heard any Open Mike Eagle.

What should I check out?

one of the new cats that has restored my faith in the fact that there are still new mcs making honestly dope hip hop music.

that bon appetite joint is just straight lyrics.

and both albums he put out last year are bangers.

his outdoorsmen crew are probably one of the best collectives puttin out shit right now.

I don't know about Open Mike Eagle, but Action is dope. It's been awhile since Flushing has had a respected up and coming MC. Mic G, Royal Flush had their moments in the 90s. Large Pro is a legend without question. Yak Ballz was cool in the late 90s, early 00s but now he's on some electronica shit or something. Nutso is okay. But Action has several dope projects already released (Bon Appetit, Dr. Lecter & Well-Done) and a few others about to drop (Party Supplies & Alchemist albums). Has a legendary manager (Dante Ross), decent buzz and is part of a solid group of MC's (Outdoorsmen). I would also say don't sleep on cats like Shaz & Meyhem, they're dope too. Also, Timeless Truth are dope (affiliated with the Outdoorsmen, from Flushing & Corona).

It's good to see New York MC's making New York Hip Hop again. Action, Roc Marciano, eXquire, Meyhem, Maffew Ragazino are all making music in the same vein as that classic 90s hardcore NY rap without placating to the South.

I've seen Action live a few times, he puts on a decent show for a 300+lb dude.
