This is how their IPO compares against google, Amazon and Ebay when they were in the same position, but FB's growth definitely doesn't measure up to it's competitors.

Even though they made about 3.7B in revenue from the Zynga partnership & advertising it's still nothing to be ecstatic about.

I think Zuck is worth like 28 billion #based on his shares and stake in the company.

Facebook isn't really not about you or your friends its about building a profile of your behaviors and targeting them for financial gain of their advertisers. Zuckerberg was smart to build the user base before monetizing the site to get some people hook. And he made smart decision in letting some of the most qualified people run the business end. I fear that once the IPO is launched Zuckerberg will be out and the shareholders will go over the top with building profit and abuse the information they gather on some many people. Some peoples whole lives are on there.

LOL he isn't "out"

He positioned himself to retain full control of the company and created a dual class stock structure.

As for the users.. they really shouldn't "feel" anything or whine about his monetary gain if they haven't contributed to building an infrastructure this immense.

Users have contributed by being narcissistic, exhibitionist-guinea pigs. I can't blame him for monetizing and building these data profiles for marketing when no one is putting a gun to anyone's head to log in daily. It's all there in TOS.

Guinea pigs is so correct! I wonder what the conclusion of this experiment would be.
