As a PC user, I hate -- a word I use sparingly -- the new interface that is the centerpiece of Windows 8.
With the new version of its flagship operating system, due out Friday, Microsoft has replaced its tried-and-true desktop interface with what it called until recently the Metro interface. Instead of a start button, taskbar and windows filled with applications and folders, Metro features a screen full of program "tiles" and applications that run full-screen

I'm behind with the times. I'm still rocking XP on my main computer and a preloaded Vista on the other. Is Windows 7 generally liked for the most part? I've been thinking about finally upgrading soon and I'd probably stick to that over 8. Not sure if I'm liking the way this new OS sounds.

I still rock XP also, I will continue to until support stops on 2014, Microsoft stay clueless these days...

their idea of a tablet "The Surface" is also getting horrible reviews.

Their ship is sinking and that idiot Ballmer is the captain

Just apple's iphone sales alone account for more revenue than Microsoft makes in a year.

Microsoft really should just stick to their Enterprise software and Xbox franchise. Or innovating stuff like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tm2IuVfNEGk

Windows 8 is the new Coke. Windows ME looks superior.

The Metro thing isn't forced on you. You can still have the old desktop
