The fact that it's a Guillermo del Toro film will make it worth checking for imo

I thought that this movie might be one of those every summer typical blockbusters but this looks promising.

Running time: 131 minutes

Rotten Tomatoes: 85%

I'm very surprised from a movie that's about large robots and sea monsters. :-/

This film is serious.

So, would you highly recommend it? I'm a bit skeptical.

I would, to me it delivered.

The action was phenomenal....it was a feast for the eyes.

And the drifting aspect was well thought out.

I was highly anticipating seeing this from a long time ago and I wasn't disappointed.

Made me think we'll probably see a "Robotech" film in the future too.

I'll probably see it this soon. Thanks for the info, guys.

saw this yesterday, gotta say I'm really impressed with it. it was dope from front to back, nevermind all those biased reviews where people compare it to transformers when its nothing of the sort. this definitely reminds me somewhat of Robotech combined with ultraman. the jeagers would have definitely been useful against the monster from Cloverfield lol. I think they could definitely get away with a sequel to this. shit was dope hands down.

No interest in seeing this whatsoever. Looks like a fuckin video game.

Guillermo del toro has done some great movies (Pans Labyrinth anyone?) but this looks like typical dumbed down CGI Hollywood summer blockbuster bullshit.

Maybe I'm wrong and it has a decent plot with good characters, dialog, creative storytelling, but I doubt it.

Based on trailer this looks big. It's like 2 years since I first heard of it, and Del Toro directing, I've been anticipating this one.

Gotta see this as soon as possible.

Not as good as Power Rangers but showed those terrible transformer movies how to do a robot film.

Probably best action scenes of a blockbuster I've ever seen.

Movie was dope. It's more like watching a live action anime movie with the way they handle the characters. The only negative I could say is that the majority of the fights are all show on the trailers.

WOW. I was not expecting this to be any good.

I loved how they filmed the action scenes.

Finally a director that allows us to see what is happening amongst the chaotic fights.

No shaky camera just great angles to see these fights unfold.

I also liked the story about the creatures coming to earth after we have terraformed if for them with all this pollution pretyy cool concept.

Even the fact they came from a worm hole from the ocean was awesome too.

This is the way action movies so be done.

I loved the how enormous the robots and creatures were and how it felt like it was a real thing we were lokking at not just computer animation.

The visuals blew my mind.

Bravo to Del Toro for putting together an action movie that delivered. Transformers needs to use his vision.

All netflix films will be done this way moving forward.

It was like I was at the movies.

http://biblioklept.org/2013/07/20/william-gibsons-review-of-pacific-rim/

"A ravishing display of intelligent, often wonderfully witty visual design, every frame alive with coherent language, in the service of what is at heart a childrenís story. A childrenís story for a very dark time, our own, about a very dark time as children understand such things: monsters, from beneath the bed ó our own or the oceanís! It restores heroism to the realm of the humanistic, an extraordinary accomplishment given so much of the film culture of our day. The protagonists know, and demonstrate that they know, that it isnít about them. A sweetly simple fable, for all the titanic grandeur of its cosplay (which I took to be the message of the slowly pumping wooden bellows in the kaiju-drifting machine, which became for me the sly sweet heart of it all). A demonstration of the degree of heart *and* physicality that even very big-ticket FX can convey when thereís an honest will to avoid the opposite; mega-scale FX that donít drain either away. A baroque that doesnít curdle, that never fetishizes itself"

You gotta take the film for what it is. A well done action flick.

If your expecting the film to be written like Pans labyrinth, you will be let down.

This film is good.
