A couple weeks ago I picked up their album "Full Clip"(Greatest Hits) and I was mad about what I had been missing out on all that time b4 I bought it. I had heard a few songs of their's b4 I bought it like Rite Where U Stand, Above the Clouds, and some underground mix w/ them and Shady Records(Green Lantern I think). Anyone else got any of their albums? Any recomendations?

All there albums are like 4 1/2 star range at least, except No More Mr. Nice Guy, very humble beginnings, but damn, you gotta love these dudes, just that pure Hip-Hop shit, listen to Daily Operation, one of those albums that takes you to the essence. Moment Of Truth is a fuckin' masterpiece, name another album 20 songs long with no skits and 80 minutes that's that fuckin' dope and consistent, I don't think you could.

Moment of Truth is on another level. Hard to Earn is still classic, probably in my top 20 albums of all time.

i remember readin on undergroundhiphop.com i think that they kinda took a break from eachother, like doin their own thin type shit, if its true its kinda sad even though they really havent had any new releases, (except the ownerz) i mean they are a hip hop duo, a classic one at that.

No More Mr Nice guy was alright....but still....I returned that to the used record store. The best thing I liked about it was the cover...that old skool pose.

But yes, all the albums are worth getting.

Sickest shit ever! Gangstarr is sick. I was introduced to their music through skateboarding and skate videos. Ever since i heard Guru's montone style on "full Clip" i was hooked!

best Gang Starr albums ever - Hard To Earn, Step In The Arena, Daily Operation
then its, Ownerz, No More Mr Nice Guy, Full Clip, Moment of Truth

^ in that order too......

dont forget also, Jeru the Damaja - The Sun Rises In The East, Wrath of The Math, and Group Home - Living Proof, they were part of Gang Starr Foundation, and should be included.

Man, I don't know why they had Group Home in the Gang Starr foundation, those are two of the worst fuckin' rappers I've ever heard, they're so horrible, I can rock that album all day though cuz Premo. Jeru fuckin' rules.

11-08-2005, 11:56 PM

Gang Starr has got to be the sureshot!!!
I got all their shit except full clip and no more mr nice guy.
If you don't have their albums "step in the arena" thorugh "the owners", go cop that shit. Gang Starr have never dropped a week album.
Hip-Hop in its purest form.

btw. if you ever get the chance to see them perform live, you better do it! It's fucking insane.
