I have seen other "fav album" polls before with gangstarr, redman, etc..but I never remember a Pete Rock one....so I will make one.....I am guessing one album will have dominant votes.....but Ill see.

In this thread, I will just put the "main" albums.

edit: damn, never made a poll in a while....the posting template that I am using is different.

mecca and the soul brother (t.r.o.y.; lots of lovin - my favourite hiphop lovesong)

actually im a big pete rock fan i got all albums (bought it) except the first e.p. and the lost and found. the petestrumentals were really dope too. there also was a nice single which i only have on vinyl from pete rock and c.l. smooth from the year 2000 "back on the block" which very nice, too. but im not sure wether or not its a bootleg.

did he really reunion with c.l. and are they gonna make an album?

Yeah, Ive been meaning to pick up the album soul survivor...I seen it at the used record store....I had it Dled a while back. Most of my albums are the older ones with C.L.

My favourite is The Main Ingredient.....and the funny thing is you can buy it new for less than 10 bucks.

I love this album and it's highly underrated; i know some people hate the sound he started implementing around soul survivor 2 but i enjoy the production style quite a bit.

Soul Survivor 2 or Lost and Found

the fuck was this nigga smoking when he said this

S.S 2 was WACK as FUCK. why would someone mention that ahead of SS1 in this dimension?

Soul survivor is by far my favorite Pete album. He went hardest there imo, and its full of classic verses. Its a top 3 album from that year i'd say. And your lying to yourself if you think any other Pete album is better.

^^^it's definitely a good album, i think the InI album is a little bit better...it's tragic that it wasn't released in the 90s like it was supposed to be.

real hard to choose but for me it's either "Center of Attention" or "The Main Ingredient", though I consider "Soul Survivor", "Mecca & The Soul Brother" and "PeteStrumentals" to be essential classics too. one of the best to EVER do it, i got all his albums at home, even that first EP with CL... don't got "Surviving Elements" though but Pete never even knew or approved that album.

word?
i guess it's just leftovers from SS2...i actually like the production on that album alot also, shame about some of the mcs...but the tracks with CL are classics, especially 'It's A Love Thing' imo

you should still check out 'Surviving Elements' at least DL...there's some great beats on there

I heard there was an instrumental version of 'Center of Attention'...does anyone have that? I need that 'Life I Live' beat lol
