Financial problems seemed to have followed Joseph and Regina Fleming for years.

They filed for bankruptcy twice, first in 1987 for Chapter 11 protection in New Jersey, then Chapter 7 protection in Palm Beach County in 2002.

The couple rented a townhome at 2150 Anchor Ct. in Dania Beach and had been trying to buy one in the same complex.

Neighbor Renee Chevalier tried to help them get a loan, but they were turned down, she said.

They had moved several times in recent years, according to records. They lived in Century Village in West Palm Beach, later in Jupiter, before settling into their Dania Beach home earlier this year. Joseph Fleming had been out of work since he had heart surgery last year, Chevalier said. He tried his hand at selling cars, but lost that job, Chevalier said.

Their one child, Josephora, graduated from the University of Miami in December of 2003.

Regina shot Joseph and then herself in a murder-suicide, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

''It's a little unusual because women are not as apt to do that,'' said BSO spokesman Jim Leljedal said.

Joseph Fleming was 64. Regina Fleming was 60. They left behind a suicide note, but BSO did not reveal its contents.

The couple was found dead on Sunday by Josephora. She told authorities she had last spoken to them about 8 p.m. Saturday.

Just lets you know how fast this life can be over.

My mom had a friend that was really nice. But his wife always put him down. He would come over and get drunk and cry to my mom about how much he loved this woman but she treated him like shit. He was a cool guy though, he would bring his guitar over and play for us and the kids in the neighborhood and all that. But one night he stood up for himself and cussed her out. Went out and got drunk, passed out on some train tracks and got ran over. My mom told me that and I was just shocked, his wife came over a few days later and gave me his guitar. I almost cried on that one man. Funny thing is the day before it happend he seemed so happy. Lets you know that you don't always know a person's situation.

I didn't realize there was another realtor on here...I always say I can smell em a mile away. How's the market?

(Sorry to lighten the conversation, no disrespect to your neighbors or you)

in south florida the real estate market is still booming, but the hurricane set us back justr a bit, things are slow, and people cant sell their hoem with roof damage, so around jan shit will start to get back to normal, but anyways i have the whole state of florida, and even if she got bad in miami, north and west florida have a market of their own, and florida will always have an increase in population, so i like working this state
