the mayan calendar, which has been very damn accurate in events it predicts (supposedly eclipses predicted within 3 seconds), ends at 2012. the calendar stops at i think december 13th, because that's the end of an earth "cycle" or something where it enters into some fancy photon light belt or something.

supposedly it's when the world ends.

the earth is in line with the sun and the centre of our galaxy (the sacred tree as the mayans called it.) This may result in a switch of the earths poles, and probably a lot of powerblackouts.

The mayans believed that frm that date on, there will be a time of enlightnment and peace.

funny that dec. 21th 2012 is written this way: 13.0.0.0.0 in the mayan calendar.

anyway, gotto see it happen first, cuz that's quiet a theory.
