I read somewhere that the world wide web will finish and they will bring out world wide web 2 (www2) which will only consist of only few thousand pages or something like that.. and all the trafficing will get monitored as all the information will get sent through a one big server! anyone who uses the internet will get monitored on the pages thier view!

Think it's possible?

My uneducated opinion on the matter is that there is obvious and apparent positives and negatives associated with the World Wide Web.

As previously pointed out:

its dangerous for the wicked and dumb

it brings the righteous together

I only think it becomes dangerous when one becomes desensitised to the negatives, and subconsciously unable to discriminate properly. Which does happen.

At the end of the day, it just depends on what you use it for. The same principal can be used throughout life.

Intentions are important; "actions are judged by intentions".

Peace.

Not entirely. A counter culture movement will rise up and only the people who choose to use the proposed platform (ww2 if that's what were calling it) will.

If you could see the big picture with Facebook it would make more sense. Facebook is hoping to create a walled garden where "safety" is plentiful and "censorship" is non-existent.

Which is bullshit.

BTW the Library of Congress is archiving every status update on "Twitter" starting this year. What a waste.

Dial 1 for... No Good Reason

By: Charles Fishman (http://www.fastcompany.com/user/45)December 1, 2003 One mystery explained.

We've adapted, consciously or not, to a small oddity of our phone system: When you make a long-distance call on a landline phone, you need to dial 1 before the number. On most wireless phones, the 1 is superfluous. But if you include the 1 in a wireless call, that's okay--the phone can cope. In short, the cell-phone system seems smarter; the wired system seems strangely fussy. Why?
The landline network still requires a 1 for reasons of history, business, and regulation. Adam Newman, an engineer for Telcordia, which provides software to run the system, says most states still "require the local exchange to provide a toll indicator"--traditionally the 1--as a warning to consumers that calls will cost more. Switches in the landline world, moreover, still listen to the number as you dial it. As soon as the network hears you dial 1, the call is sent to long-distance lines to be completed. So "there's no technical reason the 1 couldn't come out," says Bob Azzi, vice president of network engineering for Sprint. "But you've got thousands of local-phone providers, thousands of switches, all of which would have to be changed."
Which makes the 1 a bemusing modern quirk: unnecessary, but required.

Why exactly do you have a CISCO certification? Are you even applying that training to your career?

Or are you lying?

BTW Brain surgeons have admitted to using Wikipedia as of recently. It has come a long way since its inception. Committees are now watching certain topics for malicious edits and the approval process has become pretty complex.

Our current internet infrastructure is very inefficient and patched together. It makes sense to refactor it and improve upon what we already have. I know all about the history of it. I can also see why you are paranoid. But what do you expect when you are enjoying the fruits of something that was originally military funded and developed?

Yeah I was gonna say this. It won't be long before they put a micro processor that runs on bio electricity in your brain and hook it up to a router. Link the audio to our ears, the optics to your eyes, and hardwire your memory to the internet. You won't even need to remember or learn things. Everything will be direct universal knowledge. On one hand everyone could read your thoughts if it's not properly encrypted, but that's how you create a change in society. You change the very way we communicate. Eliminate privacy and initiate unity. Future Video games would be a blast though. Real life detail, smell, feel (but not pain) taste. Total immersion. Welcome to the matrix.
