that hard, cisse has fit in more than morientes in england i think, but theyre both class but id say cisse adapt esier i keep cisse

whitey
05-18-2006, 11:04 PM
at this point in time id take cisse. ive always preffered morientes but hes just proved over the past couple years the english game is not for him. or he has lost it. one of the two. i think he would fair much better if he went to france or spain.

cisse can be used as a winger because of his pace, which you can never have enough good wingers (cough chelsea cough).

defoe at liverpool? ehhh, i mean i can see him as a third striker, but they really need to bring in someone who can do big thangs. hes good, but not remarkable.

FrenchShin
05-19-2006, 02:22 AM
liverpool needs to stop with strikers... bring some defenders instead.

morientes probably lost a bit of his talent, because he stayed on the bench too much time. rafa wanted to create some kind of spanish community, but, what's the point of putting morientes on the bench ?

by the way, it's really strange now to see how many players of the spanish squad play in Premier League.

That's it Henry signed for 4 more years in Arsenal .

Cisse said he wanted to go to Marseille:"Im ready to study any proposition. In France I have two clubs: Auxerre and Marseille wich has always made me dream. I repeat, yes, one day I'll play for Marseille. I'll take my decision after the worldcup. During winter that was close but finally Liverpool said no, in Marseille people thought it was me who didn't want to come, but that wasn't the case at all."
That would be nice but actually the problem is not Cisse or not Cisse, the fuckin problem is that again we're gonna have a new coach, that sux . It's between Deschamps and Tigana (Id prefer Deschamps)

liverpool need a 20 plus goal striker, without that they will fail again in the premiership. i think cisse will leave he hasnt performed to his potential at liverpool and from now on it seems unlikely that benitez will play cisse as a striker. Morientes jus couldnt cut it in the premiership i dont know why, he has the goalscoring ability, the main reason could be that he was played one game then put on the bench for the next. Benitez relied too much on crouch, and to be honest i dont think crouch is what liverpool need id prefer a strike force of morientes and cisse, then to see crouch play.

Berbatov is an excellent signing for spurs, i really see him making an impact in the premiership. martin jol knows what his doing and he has bought a striker that can score goals. now its just a case of who do you drop. keane or defoe, what about mido???

fucking hell another one gone

Following Bixente Lizarazu, Jens Jeremies (both retiring) and Michael Ballack (Chelsea), a fourth senior professional is to leave Bayern at the end of June. Zé Roberto, whose contract expires in just over a month, has decided to seek a new challenge after four successful seasons in Munich.

"Unfortunately, we've been unable to bring negotiations with Zé to a successful conclusion," general manager and board director Uli Hoeneß announced. "We wish him all the best for the World Cup in Germany, and then much success for the rest of his sporting career."

King of the assists

The tricky 31-year-old winger has yet to announce his next destination, although he has categorically ruled out a move within the Bundesliga and appears likely to find a new club in Southern Europe.

**edit** man this guy was awesome, im sad to lose him, theres a few more will leave soon so shit next bundesliga might be a struggle

HANZO

bayern munich are in talks to buy turkish international yilderay basturk from hertha berlin. but they gonna need much more to replace ballack and them lot. i think bayern should concentrate on raising young players, because with the giant leap spanish, italian and english clubs have taken all the top players will play in these leagues. its now harder to attract top players to the bundesliga, so raising new players can benefit german clubs and the national team who need a couple new stars in their squad. i realise that a lot of the young talent in germany are turkish players, in fact the U-17 squad that turkey had who won the european cup and performed really well in the U-17 world cup, most of them were german born turks. players like nuri sahin the germans raise him and the turks snatch him. in the future this kid is going to be a class player.

The Hound
05-19-2006, 12:38 PM
yeah i think bayern is also lookin at lukas podolski, a few months ago a dude at work said his paper (i think it bulgarian) said bayern was lookin at bojoinov but im unaware of his status, i think the board is gonna go out on a limb and try and purchase a big signin, something that happens rarely, with ballack gone i think schweini will step up to the plate, he'll have more responsibility which i think is good, have sme trainin underthe master and now he can step to the plate, hopefuly andreas görlitz can stay fit this season and watch out for dos sanots hes a top prospect!! and yeah, your right on the turkish factor, mehmet scholl anyone?

HANZO
05-19-2006, 01:20 PM
i heard about some 17 year old argentinian player bayern were looking at. i dont know his name but they say he was to replace ballack a real star in the making. lets see what happenes because bayern are germany's biggest club and need to be at the top of europe again.

The Hound
05-19-2006, 01:26 PM
i dont think u will see bayern lifting the UCL anytime in the next 10-20 years, we dont hav the money juve, real, milan, barca, man u,chelsea can get amd bundesliga isnt an attraction to pull big name stars, ugotta get em raw, develop em and sell em off for cash, but hey i hope i eat my words

HANZO
05-19-2006, 01:40 PM
yeah true, they got hammered by milan in the champions league and that just shouldnt happen. i dont think its because of the money bayern are a rich club, but the players they will go for will prefer the other leagues. a reason why bayern have become weak in europe is competition there hasnt been a team in germany that really can become a hard rival to bayern. One year you see leverkusen do good but the year after they fall. bayern really need to be tested this way they will really concentrate on strengthening their squad by doing this they will be stronger in europe.

The Hound
05-19-2006, 01:45 PM
true bayern make money but the board also limit what they spend, they refuse to spend outrageous fees for players, bayern will always get the best of the bundesliga but not much from other teams who will go off to chealse on triple wot u get at bayern

HANZO
05-19-2006, 01:50 PM
every board apart from chelsea and real madrid limit the amount spent on players. reason why they get the best players. ballack gets £6million a year and thats after tax making him the highest paid footballer. it is a sport were money dominates.

The Hound
05-19-2006, 01:54 PM
yeh but when you throw, man u, liverpool, milan, inter, roma, juventus, barca, valencia in the mix, bayern spend all their signings on wot they would spend one player. recently bayern went all out, ze robert, lucio, deisler, makaay, ballack, that needed to happen but whether they go as hard again remains to be seen, i would like it if van bommel did come but i dont think theyll fork out the money

HANZO
05-19-2006, 02:11 PM
its hard to think bayern will go all out again its gonna be hard to replace all the players who have left with players with equal calibre. that will just cost too much. They will have 1 or 2 big signings but the rest will be players either from the youth system or players from the bundeliga.

The Hound
05-19-2006, 02:33 PM
ofcourse we wont get a big signing, chelsea wont leave anyone left:tease:

There's a lot of talk of Bayern Munchen getting Stillian Petrov from Celtic as well, he's not that bad a player but not high profile as such. Having Schweinsteiger on the books is definately a bonus. I'm not sure about Basturk anymore, he's not as highly regarded as he was like 4 years back.

whitey
05-19-2006, 09:51 PM
bayern should get klose.

ive wondered why no one has really tried to make a bid for him. i mean ive never been overlly impressed, but he scores goals, and thats what football is about so...

theres talk drogba wants to leave chelsea, and has mentioned milan as destination. i hope not, hes ok, but hes not a top clubs 1 or 2 striker. he needs to go to a slightly smaller club, a good, but not great team, and play full time.

The Hound
05-20-2006, 01:21 AM
i thought drogba was linked with a move back to marseille, i guess wu killah could shed more light there, stillan petrov isnt too bad, yildary basturk isnt wat he was when leverkusen were at the top id consider different options before him, id like van bommel over him but i think barca are gonna stamp their foot down and demand a price they know we wont pay

interesting comments from shevchenko

Shevchenko decision next week
May 20, 2006

FORMER European Footballer of the Year Andriy Shevchenko will decide next week whether he will stay at AC Milan or move to English champion Chelsea.

Asked if he was heading for England, Shevchenko told the Gazzetta dello Sport: "I'm considering it and you will know my decision on the 24th or 25th (of May).

"I never said I had made my mind up to go to Chelsea. I just said that I was thinking about it for family reasons."

Shevchenko admitted that learning to speak English was part of the attraction of joining Chelsea.

"I don't speak the language of my wife and my son," said the Ukraine international who is married to American model Kristen Pazik.

"When you play for a successful club, it's not easy to find the time to learn (another language).

HANZO
05-20-2006, 09:12 AM
im now guessing that its kinda certain that shevy will go chelsea. with all the issues around italian football at the moment.
if shevchenko wants to learn english please go to liverpool. teach him a bit of scouser.
it doenst make sense though AC milan are a much bigger club then chelsea everyone wants to play for milan not chelsea but shevchenko from what it seems will leave. For the money i guess, bollocks about learning english. his rich he could just get an english teacher. man wants more money ofcourse.

Carlos 'has Chelsea offer'
From correspondents in Weggis, Switzerland
May 25, 2006

ROBERTO Carlos is the latest player to be targeted by England champion Chelsea, the Brazilian stating the London club had offered him a three-year contract.

The 33-year-old has one year to run on his deal with Real Madrid and said he would make up his mind after the World Cup, which starts on June 9.

"The problem is not financial," he told reporters before a training session with the world champion side.

"The problem is the length of the contract and my motivation to play football.

"Chelsea have made a good offer and are offering three years of contract instead of one year more with Real Madrid."

"I hope to get a reply from Real Madrid to re-negotiate my contract, if not I'm going to look for somewhere else."

"I want to have a good World Cup and, three or four weeks later, I hope to have decided whether I stay at Real Madrid or go to Chelsea."

yeah, I saw that match, Desailly was awful and Dunga and Mathias wasn't much better. Zola was brilliant as usual and Ginola didn't do bad considering he only just caught the plane to get there, scored a penalty as well.

I was waiting for my favourite player of all time (Gullit) to come on but he didn't really give himself long enough which was a shame.

Houllier will stay with Lyon, and win a couple more titles. Though seeing the likes of Fred, Cris, Adibal, Diarra and Coupet are being tipped to leave, he may leave instead of build a new side.
As for Shevchenko joining Chelsea, I say fair enough, can't see him scoring more than 20 in a season though, Lampard and Ballack take a lot of shots from midfield (The former being one of the reasons Drogba wants to leave).

shevchenko already left milan, and yeh ballack hasnt done shit, he just picked up his nation and took them to a world cup final no one said was possible, missed the final by suspension and oh what a surprise they lost, took bayer leverkusen to the uefa champions league final, won a few bundesliga titles, was the only german player (bar schweinsteiger) who did anything at euro 2004 and if he had a stable defence would of taken them through the groups, you obviously dont watch bayern in the champions league or wotever and ballack didnt fall off he played a different role at bayern, hes a more attacking midfielder at leverkusen and when he first came he was put as a defensive midfielder and turned into the leader, his temper has actually calmed down and yeah we will see in the world cup, as for four years ago TOTALY IRELEVANT, and what has ballack done lately?he orchestrated a smashing against the USA didnt he? you cant judge ballack or any players performance on the perfmance of the whole team, WATCH HIM not read the statistics in the after game report and stop hatin

2nd in the Liga is a failure for Madrid. it wouldn't be so for many teams. Milan didn't win anything this year. is it a failure ?

whitey
06-01-2006, 10:38 PM
not as much but still yes. having a chance at winning the serie A on the last day, and getting to the semis of the CL is a lot better than Madrids exit in the round of 16 of the CL and not even having a chance to win the leauge. but in the end winning nothing is still winning nothing.

if loosing gallas makes you fucked, what does that make the rest of the teams in the leauge without the allstar lineup minus one?

Without Gallas, our defence has a big hole in it. Maybe you think im over-reacting but im not. Gallas is one of the best defenders in the world, hes so underrated. I hope he stays, hes a key part of the squad and i would imagine it would cost alot to sign him.

And ill say it again, Chelsea have an amazing squad but no team is invincible, we will get beaten. Its just the question if the other teams will keep up with us. Arsenal lost 11 games (i think) in the league last year, they never usually do that. You must ask yourself, is it Chelsea ruining the league or the other teams just not performing as well as they should? Since when do Arsenal lose 11 games in a season?

whitey
06-02-2006, 09:34 PM
every team has to rebuild now and then. its just arsenals turn. the problem with the new chelsea is, with the current owner, they will never have to worry about that. they can consistantly replace old/hurt/underachieving players with the best that money can buy. other teams just dont have that luxury.

and i agree with you, i think gallas is a very good player, hence my want for him to move to milan. but youll have roberto carlos to replace him so no worries...8O

i actually prefer gallas to terry, by far your most consistant defender over the years, the only reason terry looks so good is cause gallas and makelele make sure he doesn't lose defenders and give him a certain amount of protection

if gallas goes that'll be a big blow i'd rather see carvalho go, imo he was a waste of money.

John Obi Mikel. I dont know much about him other than chelski paying 22 million to man u for him and another 10 or so to some norwegian club for his services. Is he really that good?

And I dont get why all these players want to go to chelsea, especially the younger guys. They stand almost no chance of getting pt. Hes going to a midfeild with cole, lampard, ballack, makelele, essien, phillips, duff, robben. Thats 8 midfielders that would start at probably any other club in the world almost, why on earth does he think hell play a lick. Prolly wants to get paid and shit but doesnt he love the game at all to want to play and win trophies on his own?

chelsea just like to splash the cash on players. look at shaun wright phillips £20million and not even started a game. now with players like ballack and lampard in midfield no young player is getting in that squad. word is that makalele will be dropped as well, essien will replace him. but then they got this player named kolou as well. and it seems drogba aint gonna leave. i also see Duff leaving, and theres a possibility that Robben might also go. at the moment a player that goes to chelsea hoping to play is gonna make the worst decision in his life.

36chambers

FrenchShin... I think attacking midfielders will score more points than defensive ones in fantasy football terms, so i dont really mess with defensive mids. But when i play Football Manager, I always have 2 wingers and 2 defensive midfielders, im a brilliant manager, trust me ;)

Obi Mikel was signed for £16m, £12m going to Man U for some stupid reason, and £4m going to Lyn. And lets not get carried away with it Han, Wright Phillips started 15 games last year and came on as sub for many too. When Makelele retires we have Lassana Diarra to take his place, Kalou is more of a winger. Robben wont leave, im pretty sure we'll line up with 4 wingers in the squad which will be; Cole, Kalou, Robben and Wright Phillips. Duff may possibly leave, unless they loan Kalou back to Feynoord for a season which is possible. Jose said Drogba is staying and will start upfront with Shev next season which will be intersted. Crespo said he wont sign a new contract so he'll leave in a year i think. And sadly Gudjohnsen has been told he can leave, i hear Barca are after him which is a good thing for his career.

But i feel you, we need to stop it with the spending now and concentrate on bringing though youth players. I just hope we do it properly and not the way Wenger has been doing it over the years... stealing the best youngsters and claiming them as his own.

defoe's a back up if rooney cant play. defoe was on the plane when the team was leaving for germany. so far no news on rooney's mythical toe, english media are over doing this whole rooney saga. it will have a negative affect on the rest of the players because the message given out is that without rooney they cant win. as soon as rooney got injured, the betting shops dropped englands odds on winning.

theres a lot of injuries happening, gattuso, zambrotta and nesta. baros is also doubtful for first match.

Don't gotta be European to answer that one. Hes ok, good foot skills, poor game recognition. Doesn't utilize space well or make good runs. Still a bit too small too (not that small palyers can't play, there are plenty good ones alla Zola or SWP, but it looks to disadvantage him more than others).

just watched argentina and ivory coast. real good match, argentina's passing was incredible, they got real good players infront of goal as well. but near the end of the game it felt like argentina couldnt be bothered anymore, reason for the pressure which ivory coast put on them. but argentina look good, i think we will see them perform against serbia, and when messi is fully fit. so far they look the best team in tournament.

about freedy adu, he is overrated, from what iv seen his not as good as the other young stars in football. doesnt come close to messi or sergio aguera. he has potential, but no way will he be a pele. i dont think him playing in the american league is gonna benefit or improve his game, its best for him to move to europe. although he wont make the tops teams or play in the first leagues. it will be best for him to be in one of the second division teams. this will give him experience of the european game and allow him to mature as a player.

If thats true I dont know what the fuck they are talking about. Few players in the world posses the ability to dribble at that pace with such control. He knows what hes doing, he sees open space behind a defender he tries to beat him, especially in the offensive third. I see nothing wrong with that. Its the way the game should be played.

No player is bigger than the team. Even Perreira (Brazil) has gone as far to say that he is a little worried of his attacking quartet getting too big for their boots, and I'd agree wit him.
As for Robben, there's no doubt that he's going to become a world class performer, but he's in danger of turning into a bigheaded shit like Johan Cruyff, and look at how that turned out for the Dutch - Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

waiting for the brazilians to open their campaign, i dont think they will play theie best for the group stages but they got enough quality to go through. i think we will see the real brazil by the quarter finals.

^ I heard on the American broadcasts that there was actually grumbeling in the Dutch lockeroom by some players. The broadcasters said the players thought robben was trying to showboat and was dribbling too much.

If thats true I dont know what the fuck they are talking about. Few players in the world posses the ability to dribble at that pace with such control. He knows what hes doing, he sees open space behind a defender he tries to beat him, especially in the offensive third. I see nothing wrong with that. Its the way the game should be played.

i wouldnt blame them, although robben was the best player for the dutch you felt like he done some pointless moves. and it is the dutch team they always fight, everyone thought van basten sorted the problems out by leaving davids, kluivert, makaay, seedorf and a couple others out of the squad would stop the arguements between the players. i think the main grumbling if there was any would be from van nistelrooy, he cryed out a lot at ronaldo being a flash cunt.

van nistro can suck a dickup till he hickups. c.ron and robben got the skills to pay the bills. i hate when dumbasses dribble who dont know what the fuck they are doing and waste balls. but those two guys are a cut above the rest with the handle and they do good things. nistro cant do shit but score inside the 18 he needs to take some notes from the youngins.

Damn there are always troubles in the Dutch squad ...

I've really been impressed by the level of Ghana, Essien doesn't carry the whole team alone. That was really a good match vs Italia.

Im glad we finally start today, what a fuckin wait !

zidane for me was frances best player, he kept on pushing the french players forward. had an arguement with gallas and the other defenders for not pushing forward. but france were really poor, a very boring game.
brazil game was also boring, they will get better though, but ronaldo and adriano were shit. ronaldo didnt do shit. the coach needs to push ronaldo, and tell him he wont play if he keeps on walking around. croatia played really well and were unlucky to lose, they will comfortable go through this group if they play like this. dado prso was man of the match.

true

Ribery was very disappointing, I don't think it was a good idea to make him start, he's better as a joker.
It seems a second forward was missing Henry was too alone in the attack.

Henry needs to be able to come back in the mid and run at people. Hes not a pure striker in the Luca Toni (powerful) /Inzagi (goal poacher) sort of way. If they dont play a system that allows him to play like that I think France will have another dissapointing cup.

FrenchShin

Henry shot weakly, i don't know why... sometimes it seems he's too proud, thinking his shots will get through anyway. maybe it works at arsenal, but with the french team, i've never been impressed by the guy.

makelele was awesome, so was zidane. but zidane has a problem, he's so brilliant, nobody can follow him...

and the Swiss team played ruff, they even did 3 or 4 handtouches in the area... i think the referee was kinda crazy, distributing yellow cards for nothing.

and Ribéry... well, i don't understand his choices. he couldn't play in the Premiership like that, always waiting for the referee to blow the whistle.

personally, i was impressed by Brazil. i'm reading that they weren't so impressive, but it was only the first game and the defense and midfield were very good. attack was missing the point, right.

these are jst the first games
u have to understand that these players dont play on the same
they all belong to different clubs in different countries
so it takes time to adapt to eachother

some teams adapt faster than others
the knock out phases will be nuts

no, the teams play friendlies before the world cup which they adapt to each other then

Brazil were clearly not trying to play their best yesterday, they actually played poor in the 2nd half, Croatia should of had a goal or 2 in that match

I wanna move to England just to watch football/soccer games...I read this article in Sports Illustrated about their chants...here's a couple favorites:

Yer mum's yer dad
Yer dad's yer mum
Yer inbred, ya Burnley scum!

And then this one (sung to the tune of Guantanamera)

One Michael Owen!
There's only one Michael Owen!

Then, in response to one of Owen's former teammates schizophrenia, Scottish fans created this chant:

Two Andy Gorams!
There's only two Andy Gorams!

everyone is scoring like in the last 5 mins of the game
fack its annoyin
everyone is winning bye 1 point
but i have to agreee its one of the most interesting world cups coz the super powers are having big trouble against the asian african and s.american teams
it shows that football is evolving

i think trinidad will advance in englands group
i dont think the swedes could beat england
but then again england is pretty much qualified
so i dont think they will play that hard in that game vs the swedes

and i dont think the super powers are stuggling, argentina, spain, italy and the Czech's won comfortable. brazil u can say to a certain extent were comfortable. this is the world cup were the european teams are doing better. 4 years ago they all dropped out and didnt impress much.
