i wanted to put a quote from a forum member in my signature (the one that is currently in there, i put in a long time ago)

but when i try to, it won't let me and says:

You may not use the following vB codes in your signature: [php], [code], [quote].
that's kind a werid cuz before the forum crashed it allowed us to insert quotes into our sigs. is it possible you could restore that feature?

thank you

i cleared my sig area and did a test quote see if it would work and i had no problem. the sig are consisted of this:

everything below the red and after the quote tag is what i used.. and i had no problem. perhaps if you tried using the quote code that i used instead of just using the open/close quotes... does that make sense?

anyways give that a shot.. if that doesnt work maybe this is something 36 or TomB can assist you in...

thanks for helping out ben. it seems that the new "rules for posting" forbid using the Quote tag (among other things). that it worked for you is probably because you have administrative privelage or something

so it's up to 36 or whoever to adjust that (although it isn't a big deal by any means). but it's certainly fun to immortalize a good quote

thanks again

yeah, the quote's been there from like october though, when it allowed me to put it in. 36 or whoever can look into it if/when they feel like it

is it acting up again?

yes. for some reason we're not allowed to use "vB codes" in our signatures.

You may not use the following vB codes in your signature: [php], [code], [quote].we used to be able to. why can't we now? 36 or TomB, change this. it makes no sense!

We already had this discussion.

It's a matter of usability. I'm not the only one who doesn't want to scroll down like three entire pages to see the next post. So no - I won't change the quote restriction.
