"In an electric information environment, minority groups can no longer be contained - ignored. Too many people know too much about each other. Our new environment compels commitment and participation. We have become irrevocably involved with, and responsible for, each other."

- Marshall McLuhan, before the internet was even around

true. ive read though by some that it creates a divide between those who have acess to the information and those who dont. but i dont necessarily believe that, just bringing it up.

the internet is like any piece of technology that is used like gureilla warfare per se. the minorities and the poor are gone to take it and do with it as they see fit. take it apart tweak it learn the ins and outs then adopt it to their lifestyle/culture to express themselves.

these minorities are the ones most likely to innovate and be the ones ho think outside the box when it comes to the intergration of such technology.

I get it through my cable and it's like $ 100 a month.

I don't think it's fair.

i sort of agree that the net spreads knowledge and shit.
but we as a people rely on it too much.
a lot of fat loners scared of the real world are created by the addictive nature of not only the internet, but music, television radio all kinds of other shit

as this technology frees some others will make for themselves a prison. through the use of such a resource as the internet people will either free their minds or imprison their bodies. it comes down to whether they let technology end up running/ruling/controling their lives where they lose that element of what it means/defines as human versus machine. they tend to crawl into themselves and use the entertainment feature to console their insecurities/fears about the world outside the front door. the other use such technology for information to acquire knowledge which further impowers and less likely to become mentally corrupt. the divide between love and hate that puts people into a war with the self instead of love and war and disgust towards the merciless technological machine.

I FIND THAT IT IS EASER TO BUILD WITH PEOPLE ON THE NET THEN IN REAL LIFE BUT IT COULD JUST BE THE AREA I LIVE INI always enjoy the face to face. I like the eye contact.

The most high-tech machine ever built was human. If only you knew the things that we're capable of; when we possess the correct chemical makeups. Before the genetic breakdown we had more capacity than any sci-fi movie could ever grasp a hold of.

maybe thats exactly the point

the internet takes away all the complexity and reduces it to raw thought

now all you get is the raw message

you dont have to deal with the tone of voice
the customary politeness
and you dont have to answer me if you dont want to
