Just bought the LP yesterday. Couldn't find an original press before - but now it's onnnnn. But on the real, what's all this about the perverted monks thing? Is it a group or something, I've heard Afu-Ra mention it as well. Enlighten me

Brooklyn Took It probably the 2nd or 3rd best track. My favorites are Brooklyn Took It, Come Clean, and Mind Spray.

Yeah this is probably a classic, and I think better than any Gangstarr album released.

D Original, Mental Stamina, You Can't Stop The Prophet, Come Clean, Static are my favorite joints from this album. Him and Afu Ra have great chemistry on Mental Stamina. I haven't heard Afu Ra's albums. Are they any good? Jeru is coming out with a new album.

I had way too high expectations on this shit, I thought it was gonna be the best shit I will ever have heard cause of reviews like these ones on here. The shit is classic indeed, but its way too short and I dont really like all 13 tracks. Most are ill tho'

the first Jeru albums is just crazy, he aaaalways came correct, he killed I'm The Man, and with Premier on his side the two first albums are just perfect.... I think The Sun Rises In The East is better than Wrath of the math, but they're both really great albums..

Bought this about a moth ago. It is good ,but not classic. Premo's beats were not as good back then imo. Jeru is a good mc, but not great. Well worth coppin, but not classic. 8/10

I got his shit. D Original, Ain't The Devil Happy, My Mind Spray and Come Clean is that shit to me. Especially Come Clean. The beat Premier hooked up for that track let The Damaja rhyme exactly how he wanted to.

A classic, some of DJ Premier's illest beats are on this album and Jeru was phenomenal, a must have album.

Definitely a 5/5 classic masterpiece in my book.. it's dark, raw and minimalistic as far as production from DJ Premier goes, "Wrath of the Math" was a little more melodic and not as gritty but still an incredible album. Jeru The Damaja is a great MC who's not afraid to touch on topics most MC's wouldn't look at because it could hurt their credability. Jeru has a real strong voice too.. i haven't checked any other of his albums after he broke with Preemo, anything worth checking??

i aint got nothin to say about this album other than its a 90's classic an artifact of a classic era an time and if you missed it its gonna be hard to catch it!!!!!!

on a related note....

i was once ordering a pizza from a vendor on the street when a man i believe to be jeru the damaja crashed his peddle bike into a series of trash cans!!!!

he scurried out before i could confirm his identity but it had me shook up and concerned for jeru!!!!

I used to love Jeru when I first started out listening to hip-hop - probably woulda given this a 9/10 back then.

But I've been listening to this and Wrath of the Math lately, and I've realized his raps aren't hitting as hard anymore.

I like his content, and the muddy like the gutter after the rainstorm flow works great sometimes and he drops some poignant shit, but no;

this gets a 7 now.

Okay, 7.5 .
