Dr. Dre - 2001 cuz in Bulgaria hip hop albums were hard to find back in the days, now its easier through the internet but in 1999 the only way to get a hip hop album was by a mirracle, only a few artists were published on the music market, and only the most famous like dre, eminem, ja rule, snoop, and Cypress Hill, so i had basically no choice, i just got that dre album and ever since im in love in hip hop, the second album (actualy the first original tape that i bought, cuz Dre's album was a pirate copy) was Cypress Hill - Skull and Bones

I had a compilation tape called rap to the max 92, I was only 12 at the time and cos I was to young to have money I tried to get the most hip hop in the quickest way as possible. It had artists like tribe called quest, Ice T, Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince, Run DMC, Heavy D, House of pain and Salt n Pepa.
I still have it to this day.

Haha, I remember catchin this thread and not remembering what my first tape was and not being able to post but memory served me well later that night while talking about this thread with my wife. It was LL's album Bigger and Deffer. I traded a couple GI Joes for it with some kid in my projects when I was like 5 or 6. We was suppose to trade back but it never ended up happening. "I'm bad" was the shit back in tha day. I had that whole shits on memo and would spit it at school all the time. I can barely remember it anymore. Take a muscle bound man put his face in the sand- that seem to be all I remember. I actually found this original tape that I speak of like a year ago while I was diggin through a bunch a shit that I found while visitin my moms. I played it one time in my acura and put it back in a box of stuff I will prolly not open for another twenty years. We'll see then if it deserves another play then. Haha.

One.

I cant remember the name of the album, but it was by Naughty By Nature. All i remember about it is that the one track called "Live or die" was on there because i remember rewinding the tape over and over to listen to Mystikals part.(I was a bit of a No Limit fan back in the day...)

the first rap tape I listened to that got me into rap was House Of Pain - Fine Malt Lyrics.

A short while after that, 36 Chambers came out and I kept seeing it in the shops but everytime I saw it, I picked it upand then thought naaaaah, and put it back down again.

I done this for a few weeks before finally deciding to take a chance and bought it.

Damn i'm glad I did.

Mack 10, obtained a few weeks ago, 06.

Sad, but I never started listening to rap until a few years ago, and never really owned a tape. Then, my friend hooked me up with this old mack 10 tape so I can have some rap in my truck (Instead of just the crappy ass radio).
