Mos passes up on 50 Cent and Jay-Z. Mos may be on the movie (http://www.sohh.com/articles/article.php/8913#) set more than in the booth these days, but it isn't stopping hip-hop's biggest labels from courting the Brooklyn lyricist. A source close to the rapper told SOHH.com that G-Unit and Def Jam Records offered him deals this past summer. Mos apparently refused without blinking. Pretty Flaco is still signed to Geffen Records. He is presently working on a more "traditional" rap record. Word is Mos is in the studio with frequent collaborator Minnesota and has already recorded a banger with Pharrell Williams.

with his eyes on rock, reggae, rap and all kind of music genres, he's right not to go to those labels. Geffen is the right label for him.

i liked mos when he was with rawkus
its good that he "refused without blinking"
i dont think he would have creative control if he joined those big lables
hopefully he could get some other ppl on that album
(black thought, common, talib, q-tip, lauren hill, pharoahe monch etc)

err yeah as well as the fact that he wouldnt be seen dead on a track with 50 cent i think is more the reason

i actually dont know what to think of this.
would be nice to see a great rapper on a major label,if they didnt force him to put out bullshit though.

Mos did the right thing. He'll have more creative control. Won't have any deadlines to meet. Won't have to drop a radio friendly single. Can't wait 4 his next LP.

I dunno which is nicer to see, the fact that Mos turned down G-Unot or how he's going to make a more "traditional rap record". I've said it many times before and I'll say it again, Mos could be the greatest emcee of all time if he wanted to.

Mos knows if he signed with either his album would get pushed back all day everyday like Redman and Joe Buddens... Can't wait for his new album to drop should be a classic from the Mighty Mos Def...
