Blacktrash" isn't the average solo debut. It's a brilliant concept album that manages to possese both a great sense of humor and the occasional piece of social commentary while keeping it all in the confines of a story. In a time when rap had turned more towards soft club music and commercial party anthems, Sticky Fingaz managed to mold a classic album that returned to the storytelling days of Slick Rick. Unforunately, this may have been its commercial downfall. "Blacktrash" didn't get much promotion despite the fact that it was probably one of the few legitimately great albums, besides Nas' Stillmatic, to drop in 2001. Even if you weren't a fan of Onyx during their "Slam" days, if you consider yourself a hip-hop fan, this is an absolute must-own.

this album got promoted but the problem was it kept getting its release date pushed back, i remember seeing alot of ads for it but the release date kept changing for like a year then when it finally came out not everyone was aware of it

I would say AZ - Doe or Die. People rarely mention it when speaking of classics, I consider it top 10, Illmatic pt. 2.

Cypress Hill "Temples Of Boom" - Great vintage dark Muggs beats, B real is tight too.
Daz Dillinger "R.A.W" - Produced entirely by Daz, Recorded on Death Row, released independantly.
Pete Rock & CL Smooth "The Main Ingredient" - i never hear no1 talk about it no more
Obie Trice - Cheers, i first got this album and thought it was average and never really listened to it. a few months later i picked it up, the album is great! Beats are great and Obie dont get borin, keeps it catchy. Check the song "Never Forget Ya" for a sample. Eminem's beats seemed to fit him
Kurupt - Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha, a raw westcoast sound, a distinctive sound
Xzibit - Man Vs Machine - i thought this album was great, high-impact beats with Xzibit rippin them. Cant believe it was received so poorly
DJ Quik - Rhythm-A-Lism - DEFINATE 5 MIC ALBUM!! Start to finish, a musical triump with live instrumentation, many different sounds yet the album flows perfectly. EVERYONE should own this, its simply bigger than hip hop.

These albums i feel were tight, at least 4.5 mics each, just wish they got the credit that was due. If they did, i didnt notice and no1 reall ymentions them.

De La Soul Stakes is High because to me, this album removes some of the silliness that was in the first 3 albums (although they were good as well), and instills that they are, in fact, food MC's. Compliment this with some very good J Dilla production, and you get a banger.

There are just a copious amount of underrated albums that it is really quite saddening.
