that place is crap now, full of ppl. if you planned on going there, better choose Wudang Mountain, it's more authentic. quiet and beautiful.

anyway, you can do Shaolin and Wudang in the same week, so it's alright. start with Shaolin, so that if you're disappointed, you'll have some satisfaction with Wudang.

Shaolin is really for tourists. i mean, Chinese people are lazy, so they come with full buses, take pics, shout everywhere, monks look bored and sell all kinds of hist.
but you can't do that at Wudang, you have to walk for a whole day to reach the temple, so few ppl do that. it's much less touristic, and it's fine like this.

at the end, you'll start understanding what's different between the Tao philosophy and the Buddhist one, and how it's reflected in the Chinese society.
