and that is one of the bad changes in hiphop. it went from being smart (think of GZA: Genius, KRS-One: Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Every One) to knowingly being dumb (think of slang like "stupid" and "retarded"). The respect for being intelligent has dwindled to nothing.

Oh shut the fuck up. Those have been used as slang terms for forever. This isn't some new thing. And the "smart" stuff has always coexisted with the "dumb" stuff.
