13 was reserved for Edgar Davids, he would make his comeback at Ajax but on the last moment he decided that he not wanted to come back in Holland (yet).

Not many people know about this because Ajax didn't announced it official, but that there was already an number reserved for him shows how serious it was.

To bad i really wanted that he would return to Ajax! :'(

Yo! 36 how's life?

This is whats up with nr13:

word, i heard some rumor shit like that. but i think edgar still has a couple years in the top flights left, then possibly hell move to ajax to finish his carear out. the dutch leauge is almost like a development league for spain italy and englad. lots of good talent comes through holland but soon as they show they can really play they move on out.

Your right, it's for the Dutch teams impossible to keep there good players with al the rich clubs hunting for them, but that's not only a problem in Holland but for every club with not as much money as Chelsea. Milan, etc.

FUCK AJAX and PSV

Ajax are a decent feeder club, give them that........won't be long till Sneijder's off.
What's happened to that Ajax/AC Milan/Barcelona/Chelsea Reserves (on £50k a week) legend Winston Bogarde - hey 36 remember him?

36chambers
07-09-2005, 03:54 PM
haha ummm unfortunately i do...

Think hes at some German club now. Shame about Ajax, 95 they were the greatest team in the world.

Ouroborous
07-09-2005, 04:10 PM
True............most of them were awful in Italy (and Spain) though.
Surely Bogarde was a better bet than Del Horno? lol.
MUFC have the best left back in the world & you'll never take him. never. Period.

27
07-11-2005, 02:18 PM
Nah they dont miss him if he would play like the last season. If he play like he did in the first 2 years..hell yeah we would miss him verry much!

Ouroborous

looked a bit tubby in the euro's..........when he was captain at 19 or whatever i thought he'd be amazing.........then he ended up @ hamburg or whatever. still, van basten seems to love him.

27
07-11-2005, 02:42 PM
Yes he was a little over-weighted, but he is a good player he was just al hyped up the first years. I hope that Hamburg will be a new start for him so he can get back at is old level.

No offence to the Dutch league but you'll always be a feeder league (and I loved ajax as much as any independent in 94/95 etc)

Quite a few have only been good at ajax tho...........reiziger, kluivert, bogarde, litmanen, finidi, kanu, de boer's (except scotland) to a degree seedorf too.

But still... we are a small country, with a small competition, but 6 euro1's (8 finals), 1 euro2, and 3 eufacups (4finals), that's not a bad score for a feeder-competion!

Quite a few have only been good at ajax tho...........reiziger, kluivert, bogarde, litmanen, finidi, kanu, de boer's (except scotland) to a degree seedorf too.

Cruijff, van Basten, Rijkaard, Bergkamp?

Not to forget the already legendary Charisteas ;)

Don't get me wrong you produce great players & when they're all together you are a top team, but my point is they don't stay together long. Your last European Cup winning team, three quarters of it had left for Italy, Spain, England within 3 years?..........

There's a lot more money in the English, Spanish & Italian leagues, even the French & German.

07-12-2005, 01:35 PM
Yeah youre right on that, it's to bad :(

Cruijff, van Basten, Rijkaard, Bergkamp?

lol. going back at least 10 years there for the last of them! (all amazing players tho!)

Was thinking Van Der Sar & Davids more recently.....
