Oh I'm sorry...

it's called 10 little nigger boys.

Not 2 or 3 little nigger boys as the picture might make you asume.

It's about nigger boys. First there's 10 of them. I don't want to spoil the plot, so you have to read for yourself what happens to the 10 little nigger boys.

I wonder how many times I'm alowed to say little nigger boys.

MONSTER
FALLEN ANGELS
SHOOTER
HOOPS
145th STREET SHORT STORIES

All of these books are by Walter Dean Myers...the first is written as a movie script...it's from the P.O.V. of a Black kid from Harlem on trial for a murder he didn't commit...the second is from the P.O.V. of a Black teenager going to Vietnam to fight...the third is written in the form of a series of psychological interviews, journal entries, and newspaper clippings surrounding a school shooting (this book is a work of fiction)...Hoops is a book about a kid from Harlem who plays in a street basketball tournament...the last is a collection of short stories surrounding 145th Street in Harlem.

I figured something like Garvey might be sort of to your liking, based on the malcolm X and Fredrick Douglas pic and quote in your sig.

Don't be stingy now, lol, what Garvey book you reading? I need to finish the one i'm reading as well, but i'm looking to purchase some more books for my extremely thin library.

Pffft. I have no idea man. The writer is German and I know it's pretty popular in Europe. There was a television serie, comic-book, movie. Loads of merchandising. But I don't know if it hitted the USA too. I guess there is an English translation, 'cause I do know it was published in loads of languages.

There is so much cool stuff in these books about native Americans. Forgotten languages, how they lived, the racism between the 'palefaces' and the 'redskins', the whole making fo the railroad, the old American cities. Too much. The adventures are great. Sometimes it's on some Indiana Jones shit and sometimes it's like The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. It's pure adventure.
I got all these books from my dad :)

Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu
Very deep and interesting book. Not so much a religious book as it is a philosophical one, gave me a lot of insight.

The Analects of Confucius by Confucius
Same as above

The Art of War by Sun Tzu
Great book that gives you a lot of insight on war. In Japan (I think it was Japan...) big companies make their employees read this book before they're hired.

A People's History of the United States : 1492-Present by Howard Zinn
If you're interested in history, you need to read this book. One of the only ones that tells the straight up truth. Shame they don't teach this in schools...

Ruminations by Kris Parker (b.k.a. KRS-One)
KRS-One shows his deep philosophical side in this book, what would you expect from the Teacha.

Ego Trip's Book of Rap Lists by Ego Trip
A must have for any rap fan. Simple as that.

The Sixteenth Round: From Number 1 Contender To #45472 by Rubin "Hurricane" Carter
The story of Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, the boxer wrongfully incarcerated for most of his life. Mumia is like the present day Hurricane Carter. A great Autobiography. By the way Blackmind, I think you'd really like this book.

Hurricane : The Miraculous Journey of Rubin Carter by James S. Hirsch
Picks up where his autobiography left off and goes into more detail of his trial, his time in prison, and him getting his freedom. If you liked his Autobiography then peep this.

The White Boy Shuffle by Paul Beatty
Great novel, real funny, sad, and moving at times. Ignore the title. One of my favorite fictions of all time.

The Autobiography of Malcom X by Malcom X
If you don't already have this book go get it. I read this in 7th grade and it most definitely changed my life for the better. No matter your race, this is a must read.

The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger
As the other Mash already said, this is a great book. Perfect for teenage angst.

and of course, The Wu-Tang Manual by the RZA
A must have for any Wu-Head, shows that the Wu is more than music (in case ya didn't know). Buy one for your friends too.

There it is. Peace, and happy readings :learning:

The Art of War by Sun Tzu

It's been a while since I read this. What stands out the most is what to do when surrounded by enemy forces on enemy land.

Ruminations by Kris Parker (b.k.a. KRS-One)

I need to get this book back from one of my friends. It was getting good, but I'm just too nice sometimes.
