View Full Version : Can OB4CLii Flop?

GENERAL WISE

I mean with all the hype and all the expectations, can some one say it will suck? Hype and anticipation have made this album already a banga (maybe nt a classic). I know State of grace/baggage handlers/treasurers/crowns etc have been out and are great tracks but how are these any better than most tracks on Busta's Big Bang? Weve made this album, the wutang classic of 2006 (Great migration REALLY needs to be recognized and Fishscale was a banga but not the Wu classic we are craving in 2k6).

and if it doesnt drop 2k6 just....you get my drift

Even if it's really dope it could still flop sales wise.

I won't sell as "much" as Fishscale did.. but I don't really know about flopping musically.. I'm not expecting that much.. I would be suprised if it will be better than Immobilarity..

wont flop just because the big names working around it will sell to begin with but how many will the album sell who knows? Expectations should be high just because of the ppl working with it and the title of the album at worst it should be just a solid banger, but then again how many times are sequals better than the origional

I don't think you can really expect a really well built album these days, theres always something what will let it down.

it will sell more than Fishscale

I would say that there is more chance of it flopping than being a success.

it will be hard to make it as good as some of the classix cuz of influence,

the Wu has succeeded already, and they wont have that inspiration they had back in '91, it might not be as good, but it will be worth it im sure of it, RZA wont let it be wack... neither will Rae....

depends what you mean by "flop." if you mean like Fishscale it will get wack promotion, then almost certainly.

All he needs is a single that gets constant radio and video rotation, all these no talent fags are getting by this way.

Maybe this is why the album hasn't been released? They're probably trying to make some singles for the radio and have yet to make something that is to the satisfaction of rae, rza, busta, or whoever is making the determination of when the album will come out.

I honestly think it will do okay sales wise...2K maybee?? Material wise: No way...The vatican mixtape has some songs that i would not mind if they were on OBFCL 2, but i guess there not good enough. Scratch magazine rated some of the songs, and according to them, there is a lot of fire on there. I am confident about this one. By the way RAE is on fire, LYRICALLY in the past few months.

It better not flop, we've been waiting along time for this. But, on the other hand, it's a sequel to Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, not only the greatest Wu-Tang release in my opinion but one of the greatest albums of all time. It has fuckin' big shoes to fill....

I'll consider it a flop if it's not as good as Grandmasters.

but at this point, I think we all hope for better.

Rae is gonna do his job, no question.. Rae has NEVER let down his fans with his lyrics.. It's going to be the beats, guests and overall vibe that will determine if this album is gonna be amazing..

It wont be Feat. Ghost. It will be Feat. GZA or GZA and Deck. Which is also good.

it doesn't need to be good or a classic to sell well. it needs promotion. it will flop if it gets the same lack of promotion that Ghost and Meth got.

I say financially it very well could flop because Busta Rhymes flopped with TONS of promotion and a smash hit single.

ShaolinDarts

Why?

The way it goes is like this. People begin negative due to the name using of a classic........then they hear Rae and Rza back together on form and then they become positive...........gradually it becomes overhyped...........then the delays begin to set in.........buzz dies out...........all people remember is the overhype...........cd comes out and even if its very good it doesn't give them the same feeling as those individual songs filtering through to create the hype did...........album flops.

Cuban Linx was in part successful due to its superior quality but in part due to the fact it was a first time for such a cd hence the impact on arrival. pt 2 doesn't have the luxury of the impact on arrival as we already know the impact on arrival part from the first cd (assuming they stick to the original formula). In the end it will not get the support as it will be more down to perception than quality that the cd is successful.
