I will be uploading some Puerto Rican hip hop albums so that y'all can download and listen to some real hip hop from Puerto Rico, none of that reggaeton shit. ALL of these albums are underground and are almost impossible to find out of PR, so i don't think that there is a problem with me uploading them here, and i know some of these artists and they gave me persmission.
Siete Nueve - El Pro-Greso (2003)
79: El Pro-greso
79's (siete-nueve) 2003 hit album is finally available, for those fiending for it after it sold out in stores. Thick, sample-based beats reminiscent of Premier but made Rican by producer Y'all Zee; stellar appearances by fellow Vanguardia Subterránea members EA Flow, Luis Díaz, Konceptos and Tek 1 & J-Mo of Ovrdoze; and 79's singular ability to arrive at the poetic image with a no-holds-barred delivery make El Pro-Greso the pioneering album it has become.

Intifada: Intifada (2004)
MC and poet Luis Díaz joins producer Y'all Zee in this powerful, intelligent and all-around banging call to action. The intent here is to make heads nod as they ponder on Puerto Rico and the world it's a part of in all their contradictions, shortcomings, realities and fantasies. Released only March 2004, this album is quickly making a name for its creators. A must-have for anyone with an appreciation for original, insightful hip hop in Spanish.

Yallzee - El Dia (2005)
http://www.donteverstop.com/files/phvx/upl/images/MED_PMalbum-yallzee.jpg
Puerto Rico-based producer Y'all Zee, best known for his work behind the MPC for Siete Nueve's El Pro-greso and Intifada's two albums, steps up his game even further with El Día, his solo debut as a producer. His trademark chopped samples and booming, syncopated drums hit as hard as every MC who rhymes on them, among these: Siete Nueve, Luis Díaz of Intifada, Tek 1, EA Flow and Konceptos. As a pleasant surprise, Y'all Zee occasionally strays from his slice-and-dice and lets some samples speak for themselves, making this album a treasure for loop fiends as well.

Coo-Kee - Antes, Poco, Nunca (2005)
http://www.donteverstop.com/files/phvx/upl/images/MED_ookee-antespoco.jpg
Many may know Coo-Kee as the producer who cooked up hip hop beats for a number of reggaetón artists, Tego Calderón among them. However, though his incomparably comical presence on the mic had a remarkable introduction to the Puerto Rican underground circuit with "No pego una", included in one of In the House Magazine's giveaway CD compilations, not much else is known about his vocal talents. With 'Ahora, Poco, Nunca', Coo-Kee's stand-up-like anecdotal style has its moment to shine. Collecting tracks both previously released and new, the album is a thumping, often hilarious example of Coo-Kee's skills as both seasoned beatmaker and rhyming storyteller who, refreshingly, seldom takes himself seriously.

Mad Steelo - Macaco de Corriente (2005)
With a penchant for sonic experimentation, Puerto Rico based hip hop group Mad Steelo brings you their debut full-length, Macaco de corriente. MC Moña Power Love and DJ/producer/fellow rhyme sayer Loccator take some of the basics of hip hop -- rhyming over beats, chopping samples and adding instrumentation -- through uncharted waters to a world all their own, creating a distinct sound that is at times melancholy, at times grounded in their particular sense of humor, at times aggressive... and always original

Agen-t 29:
Tiempos kietos (2005)
http://www.donteverstop.com/files/phvx/upl/images/PU_emposkietos-big.jpg
Hailing from Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Agen-t 29 has always been in a league of his own. With lyrics spanning any number of topics, or none at all but simple fun and braggadoccio, Agen-t's writing and delivery explores the possibilities of free association and free-spirited cadence. 'Tiempos kietos', his sophomore effort, includes beats by Egy, Coo-Kee and others, and features a number of guest MC's both local and stateside, and even from Spain. A well-rounded album grounded in golden-era boom bap and loop-driven beats, with a looseness and novelty in the lyrical realm that're all but fresh for two-thousand-and-now.

Intifada: Mundo nuevo (2006)
Puerto Rico's premier political hip hop duo Intifada returns with a vengeance in their sophomore release. Both producer Y'all Zee and MC Luis Díaz have stepped up their game, with beats that thump just as much as those in their debut if not more so, and rhymes that put forth Díaz's ample historical knowledge and ambitious politico-social agendas clearer than ever. The collabos shine as well, by virtue of their skills as well as their element of surprise, with guest shots from Severo Cantaclaro from CiFi, Tito Yang of LIDE and Raw Mah of MITO, as well as usual suspects Tek 1 and EA Flow--and even a couple of lines from Y'all Zee himself.

Poetas Callejeros :
Los Olvidados (2006)
As their names suggest, Puerto Rico-based MC's García and Rivera are everyman's lyricists--chroniclers of everyday street life without the usual, extraneous gangsteristic angle. This is just how it is for working class men in Puerto Rico who happen to rap--two factors which, according to them, render them as "Olvidados", or forgotten. With beats by Coo-Kee, Vagabundo and García, among others, and a number of guest shots including Babalú Machete and Nébula, Los Olvidados is a head-nodding peek into the side of Puerto Rico that isn't sold in tourism ads, but is nonetheless just as compelling.

Velcro :
El álbum (2006)
http://www.donteverstop.com/files/phvx/upl/images/MED_cro-elalbum-med.jpg
A few years in the making, the debut album of Hip Hop Vox FM's own Velcro is finally here. Most of the beats were done by Velcro himself, to serve as a backdrop for lyrics that cover a wide array of topics and effortlessly flip from English to Spanish and back. With a slew of guest shots by many of Puerto Rico's finest MC's, including Siete Nueve, Ikol Santiago, J-Mo and fellow Hip-Hop-Vox-er Tek 1, as well as a stellar collaboration with MC Tableek from the New York group Maspyke and appearances by PR's premier turntablist Godfader and virtually Velcro's whole family, El álbum is certainly hip hop music at its best.
