I'm not saying it is, but if it's not, name some better songs.

its up there as one of the greatest, but id have to put "I used to love H.E.R" by Common ahead of it...

Ya know, Shook Ones...great song, but it's not completely amazing to me. The beat is so grimy which is exactly what I like, but it is a little repetitive. Lyrically I thought Mobb Deep had way better songs on The Infamous.

yeah lyrically i would go with "drink away the pain" or other thatn Mobb maybe wordsmith or fame for lyrically. It just seems that there is no real goat for rap songs because you can always lay on criticism wether a verse dont make sense or the production is wack etc.

Or u can say the best lyrical song or a song with the best production quality but no song poseses the best in both categories

i agree, this track is dope one, in terms of lyrics and instrumental.
another track from mobb deep which in my opinion may challenge "shook ones 2" is "give up the goods" from the previous album i guess.

if you think it is the best rap song ever, then it is, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

:lmao: now back to reality. Shook Ones Pt. 2 IS arguably the best rap song ever. Everyone has their own opinion of course, but what other song in hip-hop history has been more sampled? I don't think u can call one song the best ever, but Shook Ones is definitely up there.

Probably my favorite rap song ever. The other thing that people fail to realize about this song is that fans of all sorts of rap like this when i play it for them. People who idolize 50 cent love it, ppl who think lil wayne is god love shook ones II, its just shit that everyone can feel.

Sorry, it's ill, but not that special.

Trife Life, Troy, Lyrics to Go (ATCQ), Living In The World Today, Glaciers of Ice, Verbal Intercourse, Book of Life (Common), The 6th Sense are some PERFECT rap songs in my opinion. No flaws at all.

it's a wicked overhyped song. it's great but so is every song on that LP. it doesn't hold a candle to "give up the goods" or "eye for an eye"

it's another example of a rap song that gets mad love cuz of a classic opening verse
