I know this is a real stupid question, but what's the origin of the Dipset - Nas beef?

Cam dissed Nas back when Cam was on Roc a fella.
I think Cam took one of Nas' songs as a diss or something and dissed Nas. Nas never responded and gave Cam the silent treatment lol.

No - Nas dissed Cam's album, called it wack when he went on his rampage on the radio. Cam caught feelings. Nas' verse in "Zone Out" is a sublimonal towards Cam.

^^ True. All it started as a side battle of Nas vs. Jay-Z beef. I think that was that legendary "Rappers are slaves" interview.

So where does Nashawn come in on all of this? I've had this diss track for the past few years now and i've never understood where he was coming from with it...
Nashawn - "Write your name" (http://download.yousendit.com/080870E56EE31AAA)
It's because they want to sell records

During the Nas-JayZ battle Nas was on a NYC radio show (Hot97) and went on a verbal assult on a number of rappers, including his "friend" Noreaga. He said Cam's COME HOME WITH ME (Rocafella release) was wack. Cam didn't like it, so Jim Jones and Juel Santana put out a diss track with Jim Jones basically just talking greasy over the track (smacking his kufi off his head). Nashawn put out a diss track toward Cam, calling him out on the beat down that Jim Jones caught at The Ruckers in Harlem, and how Cam was caught avoiding the scuffle that Jim Jones was getting his ass kicked in. This is all caught on footage which I personally saw.
But the whole thing been died down.
