Okay this stuff is amazing. IN the future you can go and make your own games for the 360. This can be achieved through this development kit called XNA. It's going to come on sale in december.
Looking at the moment, the mod community, the xbox live commmunity. This shit is really going to be huge. This might very well be the youtube of gaming.

you can do that with a couple of demo discs on the PS2 although you had to know the codes to make games and they were really crap ones with atari graphicz

He's saying they are still figuring out the business model. So it's only a guess how the actual plan will work out. I believe they are really listening to they gamers. Like with the Godfather micro transaction scandal. They went into that and looking how that should be done next time.

I don't think Microsoft is taking the same arrogant route that's Sony.

nah and with any luck microsoft won't do the same thing as sony cos the only way you could use that game I was on about was to have programming skills so hopefully microsoft could dumb it down

This will come in handy when in roughly 6 years, Microsoft ditches the 360 and releases the... Xbox 720??? People can still make games for it, thus making it still useful, unlike a normal Xbox, which will be useless in a year.

Honestly there's no way to dumb it down enough without severely limiting the potental for what you could do. The whole reason for knowing code is that you can do anything you want. If MS dumbed it down then the whole system wouldn't be any more than a enhanced version of RPG Maker or Fighter Maker.

I would be happy if it was a RPG maker like the early final fantasy's
