"I would not like to make any definitive statements"
Sony Worldwide Studios boss Phil Harrison has declined to offer a guarantee that the PlayStation (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=20949#) 3 will hit Europe in March as previously announced.
In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, excerpts of which have been published on Sony's "semi-official" ThreeSpeech blog (http://www.threespeech.com/), Harrison said, "Given that all of our previous statements about launching in Europe simultaneously with the US and Japan turned out not to be the case, I would not like to make any definitive statements on that.
"Itís not my job to comment on hardware (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=20949#) supply issues other than to say some very smart people are working very hard to catch up," he continued.
"In fact, the ramp up is already starting to happen in supply and output, just obviously too late for us to have launched in Europe at the same times as the US."
In the same interview, when asked if the PS3 browser will let users visit any site and download files, Harrison replied, "No. It has to be done through the store. Although itís built on the same technology as the open Internet browser, itís a special version. Thatís completely understandable from a DRM point of view. But some streaming sites, such as music on MySpace, will work."
Harrison said he is "delighted" that the PS3 is launching with a stronger first-party software line-up than the PSone, PS2 (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=20949#) and PSP (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=20949#), adding, "Bearing in mind that we launched PS2 with Fantavision as a first party title - great game though it is - itís by no means the game on which you would rest an entire format."
He went on to confirm that the PS3 will launch in North America with Resistance, Genji, NBA and Motorstorm, and revealed that a downloadable demo for F1 will be available from day one.
"That's a pretty compelling line-up," Harrison concluded.

I cant got to sleep anymore, what is Sony doing? Is the rest of the world getting some special treatment and we getting fucked over. Or is it just that the PS3 isn't done yet, and they still need to fix an awfull lot about the machine.

according to OPSM2 our PS3 shipments were delayed because of a shortage of some little blue light thing

and it's a good idea saying that really better off saying that rather than pissing off all the EU sony fans like they did with the first launch cancel

Im not too bothered right now, I wouldn't be able to afford one at this moment anyway. So coming out in March will be fine, by the time i buy it it they will have sorted all the bugs out and there wont be much wrong with it. I remember hearing about the PS2 when that came out, having lots of bugs.

Im happy with my PS2 right now :) Tho, I saw IGN got there PS3, it looked good.

Thats a shitty looking game lineup, I'm definitely getting an XBOX360 before a PS3. With over 100 HD games you can't go wrong....
