Stupid album title. Dont give a fuck what you say, title is stupid.

Ill give you a reason, if Nas truly believes his title is the truth, then by naming it in a way only to draw attention, seek publicity, and therefore sell more records, just to exploit Hip Hop is the very essence of why Hip Hop "is dying".

But the real reason is BS is because he must have his head buried in commercial sand cuz everyone knows Hip Hop is powering right now, and hes only trying to get attention.

How is it not dead? How is the artistic value of anything out now as high as it was when Hip Hop was in its prime? In fact sales wise Hip Hop is dying. Check this out: http://www.coolfer.com/blog/archives/2006/11/hip_hops_transf_1.php

But Nas is a artist, first and foremost, and him calling his album Hip Hop Is Dead is his way to comment on the current situation. The name is powerful, it says something. And if you don't agree with that you like fuckin wit wack shit.

That's not to say good shit hasn't come out, but think about it homie

Alrite Hip Hop aint still in that WildStyle era but a few sparks are still flying. Like I aint a huge fan of the Neptunes really but I can see that they are interesting cus they are doing "Hip Hop" but they aint evn ever using any samples at all, but they are slowly creating a whole new type of sound, that still sounds hip hop.

Im just waiting for the hip hop reccession where all the biggest selling hip hop slumps (it will happen, things go in cycles), and we have to start over again with new stuff. People arent ALWAYS going to be into this bling bling G UNit fake gangsta shit, it will fall off eventually.

That covers sick i hope he uses it, and i agree with Nas hip-hop is dead all this garbage , G-unit, and dirty south shit is fucking up the game! I like outkast, luda, and a couple of southern cats! But 60 percent of this shit knows garbage and that's the truth! who cares about pimp cups, expensive liquor, and sluts?? That's what most of the shit is said in todays music, and niggas on the east have catered to that garbage as well! So i don't want people to trip thinking i'm just downing the south, cause the mid-west, and the west coast do the same shit! so do certain N.Y, niggas!

The bigger the cap, the bigger the peelin'
Come through, something ill, missin' the ceilin'
What influenced my raps? Stick ups and killings
Kidnappings, project buildings, drug dealings
Criticize that, why is that?
Cuz Nas rap is compared to legitimized crap
Cuz we love to talk on ass we gettin'
Most intellectuals will only half listen
So you can't blame jazz musicians
Or David Stern with his NBA fashion issues
Oh I they like me--in my white tee
You can't ice me, we here for life B
On my second marriage, hip hop's my first wifey
And for that we not takin' it lightly
If hip hop should die we die together
Bodies in the morgue lie together
All together now

Everybody sound the same, commercialize the game
Reminiscin' when it wasn't all business
If it got where it started
So we all gather here for the dearly departed
Hip hopper since a toddler
One homeboy became a man then a mobster
If the guys let me get my last swig of Vodka
R.I.P., we'll donate your lungs to a rasta
Went from turntables to mp3s
From "Beat Street" to commercials on Mickey D's
From gold cables to Jacobs
From plain facials to Botox and face lifts
I'm lookin' over my shoulder
It's about eighty niggaz from my hood that showed up
And they came to show love
Sold out concert and the doors are closed shut

Sun that cover is phat!
I'm confident in Nas, he'll move decent units and go gold after a month or two i guess. If he gets the Def Jam promotion he deserves and his album hasn't leaked yet which is a plus.
