\\\::... Survivalist ...::///

i see saturday sinners at sunday mornin’ confessionals
but winners are monday mornin’ professionals
...hustlin’ worn hugs and token laughs
layin’ in puddles of warm blood and broken glass
..hell has risen.. welcome to the machinery
television will help improve on the scenery
mesmerizin’ the heathens who heed the change
and desensitizin’ the demons in need of chains
no hope.. fightin’ your trouble will lead to great pain
..and that light in your tunnel is just a freight train
...but worse is the feelin’ that nothin’ rests
and since birth, it was sealed up in somethin’ less
lost souls.. opened a fifth and swallowed a third
lost hold, chokin’ amidst the hollowest words
we’re homeless and offered lies, lost and forgotten
..broken and tossed aside, coffined and rotten

and you’ll fight through the end of your struggle
but that light at the end of your tunnel
is just a freight train comin’ your way
..just a freight train comin’ your way

somewhere someone’s missin’, we’re livin’ with drug addiction
..unforgiven, we’re livid, and love affliction
...no escape, just this bottle of pills
knowin’ no one makes it, but you swallow it still
cry for you inside.. crucified on a cross
tried, but you’d decide when suicide is a loss
..couldn’t stop, conquered shame with the same lies
i forgot you accomplish same when the pain dies
..apocalypse hopeless as open consciousness
known accomplices, chokin’ on broken promises
enter psy: with no feelin’s and no regrets
isn’t genocide if you’d kill ‘em, but no one’s left
i, know what you’re goin’ through, i just don’t give a fuck
just, go with the flow if you dyin’ to live it up
‘cause, no hand outs, no hopin’ for charity
..won’t stand out, no moment of clarity

and you’ll fight through the end of your struggle
but that light at the end of your tunnel
is just a freight train comin’ your way
..just a freight train comin’ your way

heart’s a tickin’ time-bomb.. nothin’ left to lose
part of it says “i’m wrong and fuck it, press the fuse”
...play with death, but never address the rules
it’s a game of chess, and few ever had bested ghouls
hopin’ you’d.. collapse at first sign of a struggle
now you’re trapped, and can’t climb out the rubble
tale from the crypt, watch it weave and entangle
inner demons strangled by these heathens and angels
nails in my wrists, and i bleed from the ankles
sinners seem disabled by their grievances, mangled
..holocaust.. thesis, keep it the same
..all is lost as jesus ceded to blame
day lucifer died’s, the ultimate sacrifice
you should’ve tried, you could’ve for half the price
nah.. i never regretted conductin’ trains
‘cause i’m forever indebted to someone’s pain

and you’ll fight through the end of your struggle
but that light at the end of your tunnel
is just a freight train comin’ your way
..just a freight train comin’ your way

Good shit Psy. This would probably be my favourite written of yours that I've seen, along with 'Closet Full Of Bones' or whatever it was. I quite liked the content of this one, as I did the other one I mentioned.

The rhyme scheme and structure wasn't as tight and precise as usual, but I think that's good. I guess now that you're doing audio you've decided it's not so important that everything rhymes directly and is entirely even. And it's not. Most signed artists 'rhyme' words that barely even sound similar. But having said that, this was still tight and well structured, just not as precise as most your older stuff.

Audio was pretty decent. I'm not such a fan of your audio in general, but it was a pretty well done track. What ever happened to the spoken word stuff? Are you more of a rapper now?

i appreciate the feedback...

"What ever happened to the spoken word stuff? Are you more of a rapper now?"

Nah, i'm a poet; simple and plain.. everything i do is poetry, and every song i write is written as an affective spoken word piece too... when i go up on stage, i'm announced as a spoken word artist, that hasn't and won't change... all of the shit i've written to beats is often performed with no music.. it's poetry, i'm all about the lyrics.. my style is weird to many, 'cause i don't care if a song is catchy, which is why the songs i write don't follow the rules that songs are supposed to follow; it's just poetry set to a beat, and that's what it should sound like.. it is what it is, i don't like to label it anything other than poetry.. it'll grow and mature, but it won't change... as always, i appreciate the interest and the read/listen...

and though i try to take it as a compliment, i wish cats would stop comparin' me to immortal technique.. yes, i am political, but i don't feel that my style is even remotely similar... 'course i'd rather be compared to him than 50, LOL...

Word. It's not hard to tell when listening to your audio that your focus is on the clarity of your lyrics and getting your message across. That's cool. At least youre trying to do something positive. And originality is certainly something the music industry could use more of.

What can I say Psy ...

I really enjoyed the content of this piece, as always-very structurally sound ............ but .......... unfortunately I wasn't too thrilled by the audio (sorry) ... I think the flow was a little too predictable and repetitive. For some reason it seemed like the emphasis was being placed on the wrong words (but maybe it was just me).

Personally, I would have liked to have heard it delivered as a Spoken Word Piece. I believe it would have come across with a hell of a lot more depth and feeling behind it (as it did when I read it).

There’s no denying your gift as a Poet, your work speaks for itself. And knowing you as such only makes me crave a Poetical delivery from you even more so. If it's not asking too much, could you do a second recording, in Spoken Word format of course?

Peace

FAV LINEZ:

television will help improve on the scenery
mesmerizin’ the heathens who heed the change
and desensitizin’ the demons in need of chains

^^^this was dope...and true as well....hits home....

i, know what you’re goin’ through, i just don’t give a fuck
just, go with the flow if you dyin’ to live it up

^^^this is probrably my favorite line....its so simple but yet it sums up what I thought the piece was about....

I know everyone interprets everything differently but I took this peice as telling people to open thier eyes and evaluate whats important in their lives....sometime we put emphasis on things that don't really matter and get caught up in the mundane.....very thought provoking script Psy....keep dropping
