Actually, gravity does keep it that gully. Things weigh a slightly lesser amount at the poles than it would at the equator.

I swear that two nights ago, I heard what might have been a ship above my house. That night before I was going to bed , I went out to smoke a cig and I just had this wierd feeling and the was something way off in the brush of my backyard that was skampering about. Something wasnt right about it. Anyway, when I went to bed, I kept hearing this noise and it was right above the roof but it wasnt going anywhere. I tried to get up to go check it out cuz after about two minutes of it I was curious. My girl ended up waking up and was like"where are you going" so I just played it of and went to sleep but I swear........
