from a noyd interview

As with artists today, Big Noyd had highs and lows with record labels he was signed to. His contract with Tommy Boy records expired because he was in prison. And once his stint in prison had finished, he said: “I waited a long time to make another album because I was getting my life together. When I did make a decision to make an album [‘Only the Strong’], I went to Landspeed Records as an independent company, to build up a buzz.” Things however, did not turn out well at Landspeed, he explained: “They got sued by 50 Cent and Interscope. So when I handed them my album there was no more Landspeed, the company went under. So nobody really got to hear my album. I didn’t get to promote it or nothing. It’s like I gave it to Landspeed and they kept it in their dresser drawer.”
