Uncanny valley is the hideous name for the transition from animated to real life scenes. And an 3D artist has brought us another step closer to the frontier. It is based upon a real life Korean actress.

You can read his making of here http://www.cgarena.com/freestuff/tutorials/max/songhyekyo/index.html Included are the real pictures.
I got to admit when first crossing the it with my eye on the scanning of pages I did not notice it was a render. Only the soft rubber like lightning gives it away just a little. Very much on point. This should have law makers jumping their seats in game legislation.

A couple days prior to this surfacing the BBC had an article on the Uncanny valley. You can read up about it here http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6376479.stm
And this is some fine render too. Showing more of a staged scene than just the profile in the previous.

that's fuckin sharp indeed. No doubt in my mind that this is where game technology is going. Don't be suprised if your PS4s and Xbox 1080s can't pull this kinda shit off in real-time.

This is the kinda shit that lets me know that the Matrix is possible.

Nice nice, man. The thing with alot of these renders is, they are renders. Not real time engine stuff. For that indeed it may be 3 more years. Crazy revolution if you compare this to the stuff we were playing in the 80s.

When this boundary is crossed, I agree with the photorealistic ban on child pron stuff and such. Alot of prosecutors are awed by the screens of 10 years ago. I think these are alot more shocking.

Some of the movies of today have alot of CG in them. Problem with this is the animation used. It's so bad. It could just be my eye for such things. Next to that games still suffer from the scripts, sorry excuse for action. And even worse acting. Voice acting is so terrible, most likely a result of cheap budgets on this.

These together can push it.
