I'm fuckin amped for the new college football season. My team (Florida Gators) is finally gonna be good since we got Urban Meyer

Who else is excited bout college football? I want some people to argue with once the season starts

I love college football. My team is Da U of Miami. LETS GO CANES!!!!

Bedlam
07-21-2005, 08:13 PM
^^^ you should consider killing yourself, lol. CANES=GAY, they are the bane of my existance ;(

and I dont think USC will 3peat, I'm pretty sure they'll fuck up one game.

OxlongO

yeah boy, GO CANES.

i don't mind the gators, but i hate the noles.

i think Michigan and Texas, the two teams that had a classic RoseBowl last year, will hook up in the Championship. Vincent Young had a sick game in the bowl.

i also like USC chances, but i got a east coast bias, so fuck the pac-10.

Hayabusa
07-22-2005, 11:22 AM
FUCK THE GATORS... They better be glad they don't play us. I would like to see Leak throw all over FSU u though. I remember when FSU beat the shit out of Gators after a game like 2 years ago LOL. Gators better not choke up against Mississippi State rofl!...

Bedlam
07-22-2005, 11:35 AM
yea yea, I know the Gators have sucked the last two years, but we got rid of Zook, the worst coach ever. I'm glad we arent playing Miami, thats almost an automatic loss. And i guarentee Leak will torch FSU for you Cane fans.

I really like Texas's chances if they beat Oklahoma. Vince Young is like another Michael Vick, its scary.

Gators huh. Well them Gators aint gonna be shit when the LSU Tiger stomp that ass. Im pretty sure we (LSU) play the gators at home this year. Get ready for an asswhuppin, Louisiana style. Bluck the gators. Also the Saints gonna whip Tampa's ass too.

Bedlam
07-22-2005, 10:25 PM
LSU is one of the team i'm concerned about, but who's ur QB? Jamarcus Russel or wutever? Didnt we knock his ass out of the game last year? YEA SON

Urban Meyer coached Gators dont blow leads like Ron Zook Gators. Get ready for the Gators owning the SEC like when Spurrier was here. Urban is God around here

and who cares about Tampa, Pittsburgh's my team in NFL

what about South Carolina this year? spurrier is back. it may take a season, but watch out SEC.

Hayabusa
07-23-2005, 02:51 PM
South Caronlina? year right lol. SEC is too good for S. Caronlina to win the division. Auburn,LSU,Tennessee, and Flordia theres no room for anyone else to contend lol. Rest of division is just there to get whipped up on lol.

OxlongO

Steve Spurrier mayn!! the greatest offensive mind in college football history. its gonna make the SEC that much tougher.

Bedlam
07-23-2005, 03:58 PM
Steve is the greatest offensive mind in football, but still, they have no QB, no RB, a bunch of suspensions.

wait a year or two before you can expect a good season

One game I'm looking forward to this weekend is Boise State vs. Georgia, not just because BSU is my fav. team but also cuz I think thay will thay have a very strong chance of pulling off the upset.

If Boise State beats Georgia, I'll be VERY suprised. Boise State finally steppin up to SEC competition, and it won't be pretty for Boise State. Although Georgia is alot weaker this year than in previous years.
Final Score: Georgia-31, Boise State-20

As for me this Saturday, I'm watchin Florida-Wyoming on PPV. The start of the Urban Meyer Dynasty. You wish you had Urban Meyer coaching your team.
Final Score: Florida-48, Wyoming-13

Did anyone else watch Spurrier's return? Kinda dissapointing, I mean UCF was 0-11 last year.. shoulda hung half a hundred on them. South Carolina's QB look nice though, tall with a good arm. Spurrier will turn him into a nice QB.

VT and UCLA went down leaving only USC, UT, and alabama. the top 2 can rest easy knowing bama isnt gonna leapfrog into #2. the teams that were ranked 1 and 2 in the preseason are more than likely gonna meat in the national title game this year for the first time in a long time.

AND THEN THERE WERE 2.

texas may take the number 1 spot by the anal rape they put on kansas. it is just kansas but an ass-whippin like that is an ass-whippin. USC's win against Cal may not be good enough for the BCS computer to keep them on top. but since bama went down it doesnt even matter. 1 and 2 just have to win out and we'll be seeing USC/texas in pasadena.

wisconsin lost to iowa so that means michigan needs MSU to beat penn state and win "The Game" to win the big ten.

Visionz

Texas will be up in the rankings but it's hard to see goin undefeated again with a new QB. Our running game will remain sick though, and we'll be stout on defense again. Fuck it, maybe we will go undefeated for the repeat.

Florida's athletic program is the only comparable one to Texas. We finished 2nd in Baseball (to texas), I think 12th in Football, and obviously won the Basketball. Not to mention all those other smaller sports that Florida is always good in (tennis, golf, gymnastics, etc.)

I gotta give props to Texas though.

There has only been one time where a college had #1 rankings in all three, I think it was Alabama around 1984 or 85, they were RANKED #1 in all three, not necessarily champions

Whats up everyone, few games, questions, and opinions everyone should share their inputs on. Tomorrow night (8 PM) South Carolina is favored by 6.5 @ Miss St. I'm taking the ol' ball coach in this one, lets not forget about SC's star wide recieve Rice. I think the spread will be beat easy.

North Ill. @ Ohio St (favored 17 points). This could get ugly, Troy Smith is an excellent offensive player, and O. State usually has great D at home.

Cal @ Ten (favored 1.5 points)... Pick your poison, I'm not sure who I would roll with on this one, Tenn had an upsetting season last season, and preseason analysis shows Cal as one of the stoutest teams in the nation... Lil help?

Notre Dame (favored 6.5 points) @ GT, Notre Dame has a lot of hype, but Calvin Johnson is one of the top players in the nation, and Reggie Ball knows how to get it to him... This could be the upset game of the weekend.... I'm taking GT

USC (favored 7.5) @ Ark. No one knows how USC will play without their two best players over the past 3 years... But all they do is when. I dont know if they will beat the spread. I'm taking USC

Floridia St @ Miami (Fav 3.5 points).... Wide right baby, this is my favorite game every year. I'm taking MIA, but I dont think the spread will be broken on this game. This game can break your season, the top 25, your wallet and your heart.

There are plenty more games this weekend, but these are my top watches / bids. Whats your input?

You're taking Miami against FSU... FSU getting 3 1/2? I have to disagree because first of all, UM isn't even playing as a unit. The offensive unit and the defensive unit have been fighting all camp long and Kyle Wright couldn't hit sand if he fell off a camel in the middle of Saudi Arabia. This my LOCK OF THE DECADE. FSU over UM. Put the fucking HOUSE on this one, FSU will win it 20-14.

As for S. Car giving 6 1/2, I'd have to take them as well. Car should win this one pretty big, but then again I wouldn't be surprised to see Miss. St win it 16-13.

FIU vs. Middle Tenn., not listed, but the money line is even. I would also put FIU as a lock to upset.

Notre Dame is hyped every year.

Doesnt mean the hype isnt true.

I know that Johnson dude is a player, but ND has a star receiver of their own. Not to mention a star QB, RB, and a offensive line that will be playing Sundays in the future.
Plus a offensive genius as a coach.

Half the country loves ND, other half hates them. Media is the same way
Personally, I thought the Irish proved themselves when they took on the almighty USC last year and took it to Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush only to be cheated out of a victory.

But back to GT.
I dont see anything about their defense to make me think they have a chance.

I love the Miami-Florida St games.
I love how they play early too.
Rival games to START the series is all but forgotton now days.
I just hate how there is always a hurricane this time of the year in Florida

FSU has won once the past 5 or 6 years and that was a OT game that Miami should of pulled out of. Miami has offseason problems every year. This year being no exception so I wouldnt put much stock into that. FSU has QB problems just as much and that effects the game much more than anything else
Miami is gonna surprise some people this year

Might even be a Notre Dame / Miami National Championship

You cant really trust S. Car because of what happened to them in the bowl games last season, remember this Mizzo game? Blew a huge first half lead and went on to loose. Southern Cal deffinatly cheated last year, fuck those pussies. ND is over rated bro, they didnt beat a top 25 team at all last season... They got smashed in the bowl games. Anyone have any input on the Ten Vs. Cal game?? You can never forget about FSU vs MIA, but MIA is at home, tuff stadium. They have new coaches, but some start players will be out for both teams..... Its tempting, but I dont want to waste 100$ on a 3.5 point spread since these usually come down to a blown field goal. Thanks for the imput guys, lets keep it going, plenty of games to discuss as the weekend goes along.

FSU and Miami was a great game last night. As usual, Miami faced adversity with a few suspended players (including starting RB) and their backup has a decent game including a touchdown. So much talent was displayed during this game.. biggest probably Buster Davis. Now that FSU's core DB group is in the NFL, Davis should shine. Wasn't impressed with the play calling for FSU (What else is new in the past 5 years?) but yet their defense put their heart out there and KEPT their offense in the game. I actually went out after Miami punted at the end of the 3rd probably within one minute of the last quarter and came back to see the last two minutes so I missed FSU's scores after it was 3-10 but their last defensive stand was impressive. Also, who saw Kyle Wright get knocked the fuck out on the sideline before the half? He got up so fast I knew he was dizzy. May not have been the most spectacular game as in the past, but this game was great and deserved to be played on Labor Day night.

I was surprised Notre Dame pulled it out against Tech. They just got no offense. If they did, they'd have beaten Notre Dame 30-14 or 13 whatever Dame won with. Can't wait until Miami plays these dudes. At least I think they play. Them or FSU. Should be good.

And tough luck for Michael Bush. Three touchdowns in the first half before breaking his leg. He could have been in the race again for Heisman. I had Kentucky that game getting 22 and a half though, lost big time, but Kentucky made a surprising push at the end of the 1st half. I knew then that then Louisville would really put it on, and they did.

Ohio State vs. Texas next week. That's the marque. In the Horse Shoe, Buckeye.. whatever they call that big fucking house Ohio State plays in, they should put a beatdown on Texas. I like Ohio State big time. And I heard a starting Freshman DB was arrested for weed possesion Monday, so that's a blow for Texas' DB's against Ginn who should light their ass up.

Peace.

The Texas / Ohio St game might be a even better game than last year's version, but while the entire world is screaming how Notre Dame is over rated, I feel the same way about both these teams.

Texas obviously wont be as good, but I think the same goes for OSU.
I keep hearing Troy Smith and the word Heisman in the same sentence and Im like wtf?
Football fans have Micheal Vick syndrome, thinking any QB who can scramble is gonna be a star.

The star(s) of last years team wasnt Troy Smith or that track star playing receiver, it was the defense. That defense is gone. Playing on Sundays now.
Last year's defense is what carried them through the Big 10 season.
Smith and Ginn lit up ND in the Fiesta Bowl. Having a good game against the Irish even in this day in age, can make stars over night.

Dude you just tried to break the game down and mentioned 2 players and you are saying that TSmith is not worthy of the Heisman????? Ted Ginn Jr. or "that track star playing reciever" went to high school with Troy so i doubt any combo in the nation is better including that nice combo in South Bend.......Lets just try and remember that the Notre Dame defense made no changes and last years OSU offense drop like 134 points on them. Weis is great but he the program is 2 years away. We averaged 35 plus points last year against the Big "Eleven", so i dont think the defense was "carrying" us last year. Texas is in trouble and Colt McCoy is garbage......lets just hope ND can stop the nittany lions and run the table for a rematch of ND vs. OSU. Him throwin 29 TD's against anybody, as a freshman, is really good, and again it's not like we play nothing but chumps. The Big 12 has a lot of quality schools, and quite a few recent national championships. If our competition has slacked a little bit in the last couple of years its not like we can do anything about it. You play who you play.

btw if Florida's gonna be in it then we might be facin each other, cuz we're stable at the Qb posistion thru Colts junior year and recruiting is gonna be MAD sick after winning last year. Texas is gonna be holdin it down here for at least another 3 years straight. Its gonna be fun.

The referees did all they could to bail out Florida.
That and a couple botched field goals / extra points did it.

USC beat Oregon easy.
Florida did all they could to lose, but won barely against a unranked team at home.
Do the math, ..

Notre Dame has been moved down the polls twice this season after WINS against UCLA and Georgia Tech. So be thankful the Gators have a strong conference to catch them from falling.

I myself, is hoping ND can secure the winner of the OSU / Mich game.
Its starting to look like the winner of OSU / Mich faces the winner of USC / ND.
But if Cal screws everything up by beating USC before the Irish do, then I think Florida will face the winner of the OSU / Mich game.
Notre Dame has a strong bias blowing against them ever since Charlie Weis stopped talking to alot of reporters before the season. And any black commentators still bash them cause of resentment of Ty Willingham.

steve spurrier is some sort of wizard though, as much as i hate him (both as a Georgia Bulldog fan and as a Nebraska Cornhusker fan) i got to respect what he's done there so fast, the gamecocks were a joke in the sec. sure they have always been better than vandy and kentucky, but they were stuck at the number 4 position a huge gap between them and the gators vols and bulldogs. spurrier is closing that gap though which means that in the future the sec will continue to beat itself up and this will probabbly help the other conferences since parity in the sec would mean no 12-0 or 11-1 teams anymore

the ref's helped out Florida? Are you kidding, Florida is the most penalized team in the nation, we NEVER get help from the refs. The refs are a huge reason why we are not undefeated right now. And the extra point and FG's werent botched, they were blocked, big difference. Plus people don't factor the Steve Spurrier factor in, its Steve Spurrier in the Swamp, you don't think that South Carolina was a little extra pumped up and prepared?

And so what if Florida barely won against an unranked team, USC lost to one. And before that, USC barely squeaked by in 3 straight games. People just love offense, and its ridiculous. Its hard to have a great offense when you play top 10 defenses every other game

Notre Dame, I just dont see them beating USC, their defense is pretty much terrible.

And if Floirda sucks like everyone seems to think now, then they'll lose to Arkansas. But if they win, you gotta put them in there.

well, first off, the BCS is the ONLY determiner in who plays in the championship game. 2nd, We're #4 in the Harris poll, which is 1/3 of the BCS. Florida does have a good chance to get in, I'll just be completely miserable if we win out and USC or Notre Dame gets ahead of us. It'd be like Auburn in 04 all over again. nah dude, the BCS is a combination of 2 human polls (the USA Today/Coaches poll and the Harris Poll) and thier "computer" rankings. Each element is 1/3 of the ranking, and the final # is thier BCS ranking, which is the only determinant in who plays in the championship. The AP poll doesn't mean jack shit anymore for anything.

We beat 2 #2 teams and we will do it again! I am POSSITIVE u werent thinking the Buckeyes of 2002 were impressive and they beat The U, who was "untouchable". The game was insane, the crowd was so hyped up all day. I have never seen my campus have 1,000,000 beer cans in the street till now. Best part of pregame was a Meeeeeeeechigan car getting a ticket from an Ohio cop 3 miles from the stadium. I have never heard nor seen a "U got pulled over chant" till now either. Tressel is God and played his cards right all game and now we have ANOTHER victory against "them" amd another Heisman we can put on our mantle. So cheers to THE Ohio State Buckeyes, the class of the nation and the soon to be 2006 National Champions.

And the last time I saw a team that was easily head and shoulders above the rest was the 2002 Miami Hurricanes.

As far as I know, there's only two undefeated teams.

NCAA Football is the only sport where the "little guys" dont play the major powers. At least when it counts.

Every year, the NCAA Basketball Tournament shows that the "little guys" can hang and beat ANY team

But between Michigan and Florida, let Florida get beat down by OSU.

If USC wins on Saturday and so does Florida do you think the voters would have made the rankings
1. OSU
2. USC
3. UM
4. Fla??????
I think if USC won they would have made that the top 4 and turned there eyes off of the Florida team beacause "it wouldnt matter" and they would still give Meeeechigan there "due"

I just want to know what you think i could care less cause the BUCKEYES are going to Glendale and walking out Champs

Like they said on ESPN, since last year, Notre Dame has played about three solid teams, and they got killed in all three of those games. The three losses totaled about a 60 point defecit. lol They are definitely overrated. And they wouldn't be playing in the Sugar Bowl this season, even if wasn't for their popularity and money making appeal.

I don't really know all the teams Boise State has played this year, but shouldn't an undefeated team get a shot at the championship? What if Ohio State loses in their Bowl game, and Boise State wins in theirs? They would be the only undefeated team this season.

Boise State is always overrated. For a while I like everyone who thinks that teams like TCU and BSU and Fresno State can compete with the big boys, but than I saw the light. As soon as any decent team steps up to them, they get put in there place. Sure yeah teams like BSU and TCU have won bowl games, but just look at the whole bowl system, if the Non-BCS team plays a BCS team in a bowl is usually like the #5 Big10 team against the #1 MWC team, so it's rarely a top team in a BCS conference against a top team in a non-BCS conference. It's not entirely the small schools fauly, Fresno State's and Boise State's have a hell of a time schedleing because the Flordia's and Ohio State's of the world view a matchup with them as lose-lose. But every once in a while the matchup we all want to see happens, this year Boise State tries to show the nation that they Belong at the Top when they take on OU. I haven't watched Boise State at all this year, but i predicted that they would be be undefeated because of there easy schedule, with Florida's or Ohio State's schedule they would have lat least 2 losses. But anyways to my point, as a HUGE Georgia Bulldogs fans I was kind of nervous with last years opener, Boise State. But the dawgs rolled on them and won by like 35 points. The dogs proved there imprefections in the Sugar Bowl as a team that is truely underrated, West Virginia, started the game off with a 28-0 run. Basically my point is teams like TCU, UTAH, Boise State, put them in the SEC or Big10 and they are a 2 or 3 loss team at best, put them in the ACC or BigEast and they still are a 2 loss team. If Oklahoma losses to Boise State next year, than by all means if Boise runs the table next year, let them play for the National Championship. Like George Mason showed in the March Madness tourney, a Cinderella can only dance so much.

They just lined up the nember one recruit to go along with their number one recruiting class

Charlie Weis will get his Championships .... and New England wont

ND has always have had a top 5 toughest schedule year in and year out. This year and next, their schedule hasnt been as tough, but there isnt any other team in sports who has as many rivals as Notre Dame.
Michigan, Michigan St, USC, Purdue, Boston College and Navy all have ND's name circled when the schedules come out. All of those rivaries have been going on for decades. ND plays Navy each year because the Naval Academy helped keep that University alive when the war was going on, and has a sign of thanks, they play each year, and Army every two years and AirForce every 3 years.

ND doesnt schedule MAC teams like the Big Ten does
and they sure as fuck dont schedul Division II teams like the SEC does.
They will play a team from the 6 major conferences every year starting next year

I agree with what ur saying, but their schedule is a major let down in the second half. I think they will get better in the next 3 years, but when they play ANY team they are getting that teams #1 effort and this will insure NO undefeated seasons. Beating Notre Dame can make ur season ----even if you go 1-11. Notre Dame's big problem in the next few years will be defense becasue even this year they didnt get the best defensive recruits and i dont think Charlie knows they play defense in football. The Big '11' Ten scedule MAC teams becasue they are in the same region and it helps boost $ for those schools. So i doubt i would take ND to lose to BSU, even with a healthy Ian Johnson, but i do think that ND needs to address the defense side of the football quick, because they are going to get lit up against soon-to-be #1 pick JaMarcus Russell. So good luck to the Domers casue i have a bad feeling (and $100) that this won will sway to the Tiger's

USC will run the table, just like the experts predict, only they will run into a team in the national title game that completely destroys every non-conference opponent they play
(including top 10 teams in bcs bowl games) That's right, it all ends with USC watching Rich Rodriguez and the West Virginia Mountaineers holding up that crystal football.

Final score WVU 48 USC 34 WVU National Champs!! Go ahead and laugh. U will see!

Thats not a far-fetched prediction. WVU has alot of talent. USC is loaded again, and has an incumbent QB, so that always helps. All college teams have that crucial rivalry game that they must get thru, and USC's will be UCLA again.

Texas, Oklahoma??? Are the good enough. I dont think they are. How about the SEC??? I dont think anyone comes out of that conference undefeated. LSU has the best chance.

Same with the Big Ten. Ohio State has tough road games at Penn St. AND Michigan. They host Wisconsin.
Wisconsin has a shot, but again, they have to go to Ohio St. and win, and also get thru Michigan and Penn St.

I think its USC and the winner of the SEC....say LSU......USC vs. LSU...winner...LSU.

The playing field in college has reallly been leveled lately, thats why we have been seeing so many upsets the past few years. This spread offense keeps teams in games.

Wisconsin is a bit overrated in my opinion. I don't think they beat Ohio State or Penn State this year.
Penn State looks tough, and if Ohio State can get some good play out of one of their quarterbacks, with Beanie Wells running and there defense, they could make a run.
Michigan's loss to Oregon does not surprise me a little bit. There defense is horrible, like I've said. Mike Hart guaranteeing a win over Notre Dame is as pathetic as it gets. Notre Dame might be the only team worse than Michigan right now.

LSU and Oklahoma look really good right now. Oklahoma destroyed Miami. I know they are not the Miami of old, but they still have some talent on that roster. We will see what happens once they start Big 12 play. The Texas game should be a good one.

I love LSU. I think they win it all. USC? Outta sight outta mind....They got some tough games. The Pac 10 is pretty good this year.

im a huge michigan fan and i dont have shit to say other than "damn". and now you got mike hart running his fool mouth about guaranteeing a win against notre dame. he must be feeling real good about staying for another year. if he applied for the draft and went to the NFL at least he'd be getting paid to get his ass handed to him.

oregon was giving us the business on the jim rome show. all i could was sit back and take it.

Notre Dame better not get one of their automatic bowl game bids this year, like they do every season. So what that their team makes a lot of money, and they broadcast all their games. Their team f'n sucks, and they look like one of the worst teams in the nation. They will be lucky if they win one game this season.

People seem to think Notre Dame will just turn it on or somehting...the problem is that they have no talent on that team. They are absolutely pathetic. Mike Hart guaranteeing a win over ND isn't even a big deal. App. St. is better than Notre Dame..no joke.

yeah, mike hart saying that about notre dame was pretty worthless. try guaranteeing a win against ohio state, now that would be interesting.

charlie weiss has run out of ty willingham's recruits so now his team is garbage.

charlie weiss = larry coker...?

he's got 10 years to gett his ass in gear as far as recruiting. go get those blue chips chuck.

Why is that fat guy Chalie Weiss put on such a high pedistal? They are one of the worst Notre Dame teams in the history of Notre Dame, if not the very worst. If things continue like they are, he needs to get the pink slip, and head on over to Nutri System.

Its cuz he is a Notre Dame grad, and he won Super Bowl rings. But what did he have to do with it? Belichick is the coach and a defensive genius. Weis coached Tom Brady at QB...he implemented a nice little offensive scheme at NE and ND, but bein the head coach is more than just x's and o's...especially in college. Recruiting is the biggest thing.
